Richard ventured out to Costco today to get a couple of things I forgot(!), and he said it was absolutely swarming with people—even people parking across the street in the lot of a nearby restaurant. He said as he walked into the store, he thought to himself, "All this is because of Jesus." Even all the confusion and people who are upset and jostling and frantic—it's ALL because of Jesus. Indeed, who else could have (well, who has?) made such a timeless, universal impact on the world? The whole world knows about Jesus if for no other reason that Christmas! As Gary said in his first installment of his Christmas sermon series about three weeks ago, ask God to remove the routine-ness of Christmas from you this year and to make it something new. He is with us! Colleen |

Good point Richard! I was talking to a friend earlier, and we were talking about what gifts we were going to wrap and put under the tree for Jesus. I said something about wrapping up different "gifts" to give him, like visiting the sick, feeding the hungry for so many hours, etc. Then she said... Drumroll..... Im going to go wrap up a gift to Jesus to put under the tree: Im giving up my right to defend myself in the flesh, to retaliate, and I will submit my will to Jesus in this situation regarding my brother." WEll, that reminded me of a couple of other gifts I need to give to Jesus! What is going under your tree? Lori |
