For those ladies (or gents) who are interested in this prophecy and enjoy Beth Moore studies, her "Daniel" study has a nicely done overview of this timeline. Patria |

Thanks Pastor Mark, Since leaving adventism I have left prophecies alone. I have concentrated on just learning about Jesus Christ. Not that that is not about Jesus. Diana |

I know now that, in prophecy, 1 day doesn't always mean 1 year. Can someone point me to prophecy in the Bible where a day isn't equal to a year? (Other than in Daniel) Godssonjp |

How about the one about Jesus dying and coming back to life in three days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)? Gilbert Jorgensen |

What I don't understand is, you have a Jewish prophecy (the 2300 days) given by a Jewish prophet (Daniel), about a Jewish sanctuary in Jerusalem, and the Jews believe that the prophecy has been fulfilled for over 2 thousand years. Now how does any of this pertain to an American woman in the late 1800's? I mean, where's the connection? It still confounds me as my BIL continues to spread this sanctuary "gospel" across the country in his King's Castle exhibit. Thanks for the posts, Pastor Mark! I'm so glad you joined in the FAF. The connection came from William Miller's Proof# 7(?). You can read all of the various different "proofs" in the early chapters of Cultic Doctrine by Dale Ratzlaff. Ellen was just along for the ride. James saw a way to capitalize on her skills, make some money and build the empire that is in place today. Meanwhile, no one within the organization has the guts to acknowledge that they were (and still are) used to promote the organization. Gilbert Jorgensen |

"The prophecy concerning King Artexerxes giving the command to begin with" Where is this prophecy? And how does Cyrus fit into this? Isaiah 44:28 NASB "It is I who says of Cyrus, 'He is My shepherd! And he will perform all My desire.' And he declares of Jerusalem, 'She will be built,' And of the temple, 'Your foundation will be laid.'" Ezra 6:3 NASB "In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus the king issued a decree: 'Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the temple, the place where sacrifices are offered, be rebuilt and let its foundations be retained, its height being 60 cubits and its width 60 cubits; |

Back when I was an Adventist, I thought it was okay to leave things out or stretch a bit in order for the "TRUTH" to get to the people. I had so much zeal to get people into the "truth" that I'd even go door to door sometimes, giving away Ellen White books. (Now don't throw anything at me, River ) Once when I went through my usual spiel: "I'm giving away Christian books. Would you like some?" a lady asked what religion it was. I told her "Seventh-day Adventist" and she missunderstood, replying; "Southern Baptist? Sure, I'll take some!" I didn't correct her, but gave her some Adventist books. I feel bad about that now and sometimes pray that whoever got those books and became an Adventist; get out of that church! Dianne |
