Thanks, everyone. In the last few months we contracted on land and house construction, and bought LOTS of stuff for the construction. On the Friday before the Monday closing, the deal fell through due to a surprisingly low appraisal of the house. We were devastated, but had faith that God had something much better in store for us. Well, he did because we bought a beautiful century old home that had been totally rebuilt and restored. We can use almost everything that we had previously spent thousands of dollars on, and the other items we should be able to sell for most of our purchase price. We finally finished the moving last weekend and now comes the slow, but happy process of settling into what is hopefully our retirement home. I have a new job and am working out of my home. My husband is stateside right now (any further details on this would need to be in the members section) and loves our new home. It's been 2 years for him being a homeowner, but almost 10 for me!(we sold his Alabama home when we moved to Asheville 2 years ago shortly after marrying). We are excited about having "our" first home as a married couple (still feel like newlyweds even though we just passed our 2nd anniversary). I've said here before how thankful I am to the Lord for providing me a wonderful Christian man and husband. He's a better husband and spiritual leader than I could have ever believed I would have! Please now pray for us to find a good church. We miss our PCA church in Asheville, and if anyone knows of a good, bible-believing and teaching church in the Greenville, SC area, please feel free to suggest! I've got to get back to work now as my deadline is fast approaching. It's good to be back visiting here, and I'll try to come more often. Susan (Message edited by SusanS on August 03, 2007) |
