Hi Richard! Remember this post that you put up awhile ago? (It took me forever to find it by searching!) http://64.226.233.122/discus/messages/5371/5036.html?1166823615#POST66199 I was moved by His heart of intimacy by the mere words of it, and a picture came out of it which took several months for me to finally find time (how ironic -- or prophetic) to paint. But now it's done, and I wanted to share it with you (and everyone else, too). http://art-for-jesus.blogspot.com/2007/07/bridegroom-fast.html Be blessed in His love, brother(s and sisters)! In His love, Ramone |

Ramone, thanks so much for sharing your art with us. I left on July 2, for a "retreat/vacation" and did not see your response until this morning. God calls us to an intimacy which is deeper than any of us naturally understand. It is only as we open ourselves to Him and allow His Spirit to draw us that we can even begin to understand the depth of His love of us. *This summer I decided to take some time off and not teach summer school. My parents are 87 and 84 years old and I felt I needed to take some time to sort of "hang out" with them. I spent two weeks with them, staying with my sister who lives nearby. I was deeply blessed in the time I spent. I then retreated to a monastery in northern California for almost a week. I spent time praying and reading and walking in the orchards and vineyards. I even got up for morning prayers with the priests and brothers which start at 3:30am and finish at 7:35pm with the final period of prayer, followed by the "grand silence". They observe 7 periods of prayer each day, most of it consists of them meeting and chanting the Psalms which they cycle through every week or so. It is a very powerful experience to "lose yourself" in the awesome words of the Psalms. I then went on to camp in the Redwoods for a week and half which was beautiful, followed by 3 days on the coast at a B and B. (It was as cheap as a Motel 6 since they had a midweek special.) I ended by going over to Sacramento and picking up a lady friend I've been dating and who was visiting her uncle in Sacramento. We drove down to my parents to visit, she stayed at one of my sister's while I stayed at the other a few blocks away. The weekend was spend doing family things with my sisters and my parents. All in all it was a very relaxing few weeks which I've never experienced in quite this way. God has been very good. In Him, Richard rtruitt@mac.com |

Richard, Your weeks sounded wonderful! What a blessing to spend time with your loved ones, but especially God! How did you find that monastery? What a great way to let go of yourself for a while and spend time focusing on the Lord. I love it! So great to see you again. Leigh Anne |
