I received an email today which I will share here (edited a bit). I'll omit names.

First of all, I live in Norway. My writing in English is bad, and very smple so I will never enter the forum, but I read it nearly every day. I have done that for many years. My traveling away from Adventism started 98/99. I read about EGW and I was occupied with the need to find the truth. After reading and reading for years, I wrote my findings and gave a copy to my best friend and one of my daughters, but they were not interested.

That's OK—we're still good friends, and God has to do the job He wants to be done. But for other church member it is difficult.

So it is a lonely life. It is difficult to make new friends when you are in your late 50's. My husband is a kind of "half Adventist". He hasn't studied enough to let it go 100%.

I have been trying to find a new church. I have tried the Baptist, but for me they are too hung up on the end time "thing" with Israel, etc. I have tried the state church. That's OK, but I want a place where I can be a part of something. But that church is OK for the Sunday sermon.

Can you just put on the forum for me a greeting and ask for prayer for my youngest daughter and her family? They have 2 kids. The Holy Spirit needs to reach them. Also please pray for my hsuband and me to find a church.

Greetings from Norway.

Dear BE,
I am so glad you wrote Colleen and asked that your letter be put on here. I am so glad you read the forum every day.
Your english is not bad at all. Why not try writing on here? We will understand you.
I left the SDA church 3 years ago at age 63, so you are still young:-) What matters is that you heard God calling you and answered.
I will put you and your husband and your daughter and her family on my prayer list.
God bless you sister as you are my Christian sister and never forget that we have an AWESOME God.

Dear Norway friend,

I also want to welcome you to the joy and freedom found in Christ alone. Please know that I will be praying for you. I also have family that are "stuck" in the familiar and are not sure they want to even search. We have to trust God and have faith that he knows His sheep and He will search them out as He is the good Shepherd.

God understands the difficulties associated with leaving Adventism to follow Him. I have many friends who remain in Adventism, and I respect them, and I respect that God has an ultimate plan. I have to leave it in God's hands.

For many years as an Adventist we were told that people would only be accountable for the knowledge they know. I find this idea heart warming as I look at many of my dear Adventist friends as they struggle with the law and their striving for perfection. God will meet them where they are. And He will recognize all the additional spiritual challenges that accompany trying to live the Adventist life. He will sent His Holy Spirit to provide clarity. This is my belief.

So welcome friend, have faith as God is faithful and will guard and guide our children and our loved ones.

Please feel free to post, as we are all family here.

Blessed Assurance Jesus Is Mine,

Randy

Hi BE,
You can see after reading the forum for years, as you said, you are definitely not alone on your journey of faith.

My journey started around the same time as yours 1998/99. I feel sadness for my friends who don't understand or walk with me anymore.

However, the Lord continues to bring significant people (not big groups, but enough)in my life who fill and satisfy my need for fellowship.

Find comfort in this familiar but profound scripture from the Amplified version.

Psalm 23

THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.

He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him--not for my earning it, but] for His name's sake.

Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.

Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.

Welcome BE!! I'm a Norwegian American - very proud of my heritage. My family even belongs to a Lutheran church, but I'm sure it's different than the ones in Norway.

Anyway, keep searching for your new church family. Make sure they preach the gospel only (1 Corinthians 15...Christ's death and resurrection) and that Jesus is your salvation and not any particular church. I will ask the Lord to help and lead you there.

My prayers for your daughter and family as well.

Thanks for writing! Please join us again.

Dear Friend From Norway, Your English is wonderful. I personally know adults who have lived in the US all their lives and haven't as good a command of English as you do. Please, if you would like, join the fourm.
