Some where in the recent (or with my mind, the not so recent) past, there was a post or thread with some basic thought provoking questions that we could ask SDA's when the conversation lends its self. I have looked in many of the archived and past threads but have not found the ones that I remember thinking were particularly good. The ones I've found were quite specific to several doctrines and I seem to remember that there were only four, more general questions in this list including "Are you saved?" as one of the first ones. If anyone recognizes this list and format and can direct me to the thread or even post them here, I sure would appreciate it. Some friends have invited us for supper on the weekend - to try and woo us back I'm sure because they haven't contacted us for over 8 years while only living a few miles away. Even if you don't have the specific ones I'm looking for, this would be a good opportunity to start a new list around this purpose. Any suggestions would be helpful to more than just me. Please pray that we can sow some seeds in Christian love that will start them considering the spiritual heritage of the SDA church in light of actual Bible teaching. | ||

I saw on a web site about 50 questions to ask adventists, but I cannot find it right now. I will keep looking and if I find it, I will copy and paste the questions here. Maybe some one has seen it and knows where those questions are. HELP!! Diana | ||

Thanks for that list Jeremy and Diana. There certainly are some thought provoking questions there and will be a very usefull reference for deeper study. I'm sure that there were only 4 questions in the list that I am thinking of. They were very low key questions that refered to a basic christian belief that is undermined by the SDA's "Other gospel". They wouldn't "spook" people who were not likely to question their current belief in the SDA doctrines and did not seem intended to provoke a deep discussion or possible argument. | ||

Thanks for all the suggestions. This list was, I think, from somewhat more than a year ago and yes Colleen, the question about giving up the Sabbath and still be saved, is one that I can remember being on the list. The evening turned out to be quit low key. Quite a bit of reminising and there were a lot of references to the increasing age of the membership and members moving away and all that but nothing came up along the lines of these questions. I still would like to know what the other questions were though...... anyone else???? |
