Praise the Lord!! What a lovely testimony! It does my heart good when I hear of others being able to make the transition with their umbilical cord to God still intact. |

Josh! I am new here too, it is soooo cool to here that my journey is not an isolated incident. It makes me wonder how often this has happened in the past but noone new about it because there was no avenue like this to express our experiences on. Not to mention that all we had to go by was what the leadership told us. If you find out how to connect with local formers let me know. I am from Michigan and would love to connect with formers who now celebrate their freedom in Christ. I would also like to here more about your baptism in the Holy Spirit. I assume you already had a water baptism, what you are talking about is different, isn't it? |

It is great to read at all the different ways God has led people out of the SDA church! The baptism in the Holy Spirit was key for me. That was my first big step out of the church, but it took 7 years of questioning to get to that point. It is great to see that some had the transition much quicker. It would be great if we could have a private database somewhere of formers. I know there must be some around here, but I don't know who they are. |

Josh, Welcome to FAF. There are plenty of "formers" here who have experienced God's healing power of grace. Our stories are all different but similar. Thanks for sharing your experience of God's working in your life. Denise |

Josh, Welcome to FAF. God has brought you here for a reason which he will reveal to you. We have all experienced healing by the grace of God. As Dd said, we are all different but similar. I am always awed by how God works in each individuals life as he calls them to Him. He is always awesome. Diana |

Good to see you, Josh! We're happy to be able to be your "former" friends in the absence of having some where you live! Colleen |

I did fellowship with a local group of formers for a very short time, but I believe God led me away from them to protect me. There was a wide diversity in the group, including some who had moved into the "JAHWEH-only" persuasion, one who was disgusted with the local SDA church for not being true to Adventism' historical roots and several who were looking into starting a Seventh-say Baptist fellowship. For me, this forum has been much more balanced and healing. I've learned so much about the covenants, the law and the serious errors of EGW. Thanks to you all! Honestwitness |

Timmy, I read your wife's testamony. One of the things that jumped out at me was she sincerly wanted to be a better SDA so she studied White's writtings and found her way out. I went through a similar process. Wanting to study deeper and ending up thirsting more. It is true the Bible is the only way to the true LivingWater and the quenching of your thirst. V |

Hi! I've been away on vacation for a while, so I am coming in late. I was raised SDA and schooled through college at SDA schools. One day I was reading the "great contraversy" and realized that the end times scenario it depicted was totally a bunch of bunk and there was no way I could belive it. Kinda the straw that broke the camels back! Unfortunately, that began a period of agnostism that God finally pulled me out of about 6 years ago. I know God has His reasons for everything, and I am so happy and blessed to be a Christian outside the SDA church. Rick |

Free Indeed: I was so happy to hear that you had severed your ties with the SDA church--I am sure God has interesting things in store for you and your family. God is faithful--please let us know how it all works out!!Peggy |

Timmy, thanks so much for sharing your story and posting the link to your wife's testimony! My goodness, God is awesome! I think I may need to share your wife's testimony with my father! She wrote very lovingly but yet very completely. Please thank her for me for writing up her story and sharing it. About the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I'd love to share (and I want to hear from you, too, Josh!), but maybe it's good to start a new thread on that... |

4Truth, Praise the Lord. Your testimony is terrific. Shows you that when you think you are at the end of your spiritual road, God can make it just a bend in the road. And to you Timmy, another jewel in His crown!! Frank |

Thank you all so very much for the warm welcome, it is indeed an honor to have that sense of belonging. The Lord has blessed with finding a new church and moving on, but I also carry a heavy heart for those still in Adventism. Some very close relatives. |
