I have a word of advice for anyone who has a web site or is considering starting one. When you purchase your domain name (ex. www.xxxxx.com), you may want to give thorough consideration to purchasing similar domain names. For example www.xxxxx.net, www.xxxxx.org, and www.xxxxx.info, etc. Only one domain name has to be "hosted", while all the other domain names can be "forwarded" to your main domain name. It's like owning a shop with one main door, but building a much larger store front that contains 4 or 5 doors. Each of the other doors has a hallway leading to the one store. As we know with www.ellenwhite.org, owners of similar domain names can post totally opposing views. This can be good, but it can also cause difficulties. One of my favorite sites is www.truthorfables.com. However, I just discovered there is a www.truthorfables.net and the latter refutes the former in voluminous detail. I would rather not have anyone accidentally visiting my neighbor instead of me, which could easily happen if they write down my address incorrectly. HW |
