I received my copy of the May-June edition of Proclamation! and have now had a chance to read the articles. Congratulations Richard and Colleen on another fine quality edition. The issue of Biblical inerrancy is so very important. It is important as a stand alone issue, and it is relevant to our experience in Adventism, where the only way to build up Ellen White is to tear down the Bible. Also, congratulations to our own Ric_b and Raven for their wonderful story of spiritual unity. I bet it would have been interesting to hear the theological arguments that went on between the two of you over the issues of Adventism. Thanks again for sharing your story. Stan |

I will just second what Stan has said. Thanks Richard and Colleen on another fine issue. Ric and Raven, I heard you in February and am so happy that you finally let God take you into His fold. Diana |

I did not know that the Adventist church does not believe the Bible is inerrant. I always thought it did, but never questioned that and EGW. I post occasionally on CARM and am struck by hard headed the SDA are when it comes to the inerrancy of the Bible and their comparing it with EGW. The article in Proclamation has helped me so much. I need to read things like that at least a couple times. Again, thanks for Proclamation. God is awesome. Diana |

Diana, On page 11, of the 1957-published QUESTIONS ON DOCTRINE, SDA scholars agreed (apparently to look good to Walter Martin, the cult watcher) that the Holy Scriptures are "an ALL-SUFFICIENT revelation of His will to men, and are the only UNERRING rule of faith and practice." Wow, this really sounds wonderful! However, in 1980 at the Dallas GC Session, the words "all-sufficient" and "unerring" were deleted from their doctrinal statement on the Bible. It is generally thought that the White Estate was behind that call for change. Obviously, having the Bible "all-sufficient" and "unerring" would leave no room for the parascriptural writings attributed to Ellen White. Dennis Fischer |

When I threw away all my SDA books, I threw away a copy of Questons on Doctrines. It was an old copy. It sure would be nice to have it now. Oh well, I did what I thought was best at the time. I am so happy, now, knowing God is so awesome. Diana |

It's interesting how they have continued to change their statements over the years. No, they are not "changing". Colleen |
