I am a former adventist now ...I have left the church recently , ...I have been involved for at least one year and a half ... I was a catholic before ...The point is that I have been throurougly indoctrinated with adventism , as I was not an actice church member , always later and never participated in any meeting in the church ...I was assumed to be a free christian ... Now, my question is, now, that I have left the church, I think I somekind regretted about being rebaptized in the church..I am saying to myself that I should have never joined the church ..I have never felt at ease with the church , but I wanted to obey God in his commands...But, that I know the truth about the church /i am completely disappointed ..I know now that christianity is about the heart and your convictions ... whatever the denomination you are in, if you believe in the christ, you will be saved ..that's all it is aboout .. I have took the decision to return to my former church ...but, I still linked to the past by the baptism in the church ...How does can help me believe that baptism doesn't link me to the church and that I have free will to live my faith as I intended it to be ... another question, so some of you still stuggle with the sabbath issue ..? Was the transistion to another chuch easy for you ? |

Welcome to FAF, Bobby. You were baptized into Jesus Christ, by personal choice. That is a wonderful thing. Just because there were some other things tacked onto the pledge to Jesus does not negate the fact that baptism is the symbol of entry into Gospel relationship. Your relationship is with Jesus, not an organization. |

Welcome, Bobby. As Belva said, if you were baptized into Christ Jesus by choice, you belong to Him. He will direct you to whatever church He knows you need to attend in in order to grow in Him. Being baptized into Christ trumps all other baptisms; the church cannot hold you if your are following Jesus. As Him to show you truth, to show you what He wants you to do and what church to attend. Ask Him to teach you with His Spirit as you study His word. Go to the "Stories" page on this website and read the story by Greg and Paula Taylor. It will walk you through a brief but good study on how Greg, formerly an Adventist pastor, studied the Sabbath issue. We look forward to hearing more from you! Colleen |

Welcome Bobbylog to FAF. Both the SDA and Roman Catholic churches you were associated emphasize the false gospel of works, but I agree that you were baptized into Christ, and not a particular denomination. There are many grace-based churches out there to find good fellowship. Stan |

Welcome Bobbylog to FAF. Before going back to your Catholic church, take some time to read only the Bible. Start with the gospel of John, then read 1,2, 3 John and then the rest of the gospels. When you finish reading these read the rest of the New Testament. Do not let your disappoinment help you do something rash. Pray about it, read and study the Bible and pray and read and study some more. Ask God where he wants you and when the time is right for you, He will let you know. Welcome, Diana |

Hello Bobbylog! I'm so glad you came to FAF! I have only been here a few months myself. I can tell you that the good folks here will be happy to have you and to help you with your questions. Listen to them carefully, and feel free to ask again about anything that isn't perfectly clear. If you're like me, you'll think that you have "it" figured out one minute, and then the next all the clouds of doubt will come rolling back in and you will be filled with questions again. When you just need reassurance we are here, too. We're All Just Searching! Pegg |

Bobby, Welcome! Most (at least, USA) SDA pastors, now, baptise into the Trinity, even if they have church doctrinal strings attached (some do, some do not mention those 'strings'). Scripturally, there is "one baptism" --you in Christ. Your former church and spiritual leader will affirm this for you, I'm sure. My sister went through some of the questions you have and she was assured about her baptism, coming in by profession of faith. Jesus knows his own. You can rest assured in that, whether you are ever re-baptized, again, or if you are taken in with 'Profession of faith', into a church fellowship, within the Body of Christ. I will pray for your peace about this; also, about letting go of the Sabbath issue. Many here can help you, theologically, on that. But all of us understand how the Sabbath can be the last stronghold, keeping us bound up, troubled, going back and forth, and anxious in our minds. It does not have to be so, for a long time. You can have joy and serenity in Christ~ Cathy |

Dear brothers, Thanks for your encouragement ..Please, don't forget me in your prayers until I achieved full freedom in Christ ..I don't want my life to be a mess because of a church thing and belief ...I have always loved Christ and desire to serve him with freedom of mind .. Thanks again ..!!
