If anyone is still feeling bitter towards an SDA upbringing and being deceived please listen to these sermons from: http://www.bhbconline.org/index.cfm?PAGE_ID=976 We have been going to our new church for 3 years now. Senior pastor Louie K. is the most humble minister ever and is easily understood. The sermons on "Forgiven & Forgiving" are dated 1-8-06, 1-15-06, and 1-22-06. Also, the sermon on the "Double Love Command" dated 3-5-06 we found very helpful as we continue to grow in our faith in Jesus Christ. Have a great day and I hope the link works. |

Buzz, Thanks for the link. This subject of bitterness is very important. It is something that afflicted me for many years, and now is destroying family relations in another relative of mine that processed out of Adventism 12 years ago, but he still can't get over the fact that he was so deceived for so many years. When you come out of a cultic structure, it takes a lot of time to forgive and forget. Stan |

Buzz, Thanks for the link. When I get access to a highspeed link I would like to download those messages. I am still a 'sort of' Adventist on my way out. I can honestly say that I am not bitter. What I believed for years I believed honestly. At this point in my life, while I don't beleive in those unique SDA doctrines or the ministry of EGW, I am leaning toward the side of grace in that I want to believe that EGW wrote the things she did because she felt they were right. While I do believe that in many ways the SDA church has an almost cultic view of EGW, her ministry and her writings, I don't know that I want to turn bitter about it. I do have issues with bitterness that I am hoping to get some guidance on, so I am looking forward to hearing these messages. InSearchOf |

InSearchOf, maybe you've already read this, but Gary Inrig's article on forgiveness in the Jan/Feb issue of Proclamation:http://formeradvent.temp.powweb.com/Proclamation2006_JanFeb.pdf God is faithful; He will help you understand and give to Him the hurts and feelings in your heart in His time. Colleen, I did read the article by Gary Inrig. I found it to be insightful. My wife and I discussed it at some length. In fact, I meant to mention it in my post but forgot to. In Christ, InSearchOf |
