We are planning an informal gathering the weekend of June 17-19 in the Atlanta area. This is intended as a time of "gathering together" to strengthen and encourage one another. Greg Taylor has graciously agreed to share his story, as a former SDA pastor called out, on June 18-19. He is willing to answer questions, and just spend time with formers, or those seriously studying or in a time of transition. This is not intended to be evangelistic in nature--in other words, we are inviting those who already sense that God is calling them forward, and are open to His sovereign will and leading. Tentative, Sat June 17--informal gathering, fellowship, fun, prayer. (Celebrating Carol's miraculous recovery! Praising God for his faithfulness. Sun June 18--Greg Taylor to speak and answer questions. (Read Greg's story on FAF stories, or order his book from LAM in advance for the full benefit). I have a couple free copies available now if anyone desires). Monday June 19. Fellowship with Greg and Paula and their sons, and whoever is still around! Individual time may be available for some to meet together with Greg. More details to come, as God leads us forward in planning. Contact me at 4excape@bellsouth.net if interested. Lori

WOW, Lori I wish I was there to meet all of you. If I wasn't in school I'd be tempted to fly out and find a "motel 6" or something like that and fellowship. Besides that I've not been in Atlanta for MANY years. richard rtruitt@mac.com

We will know more after this weekend. Carol has been transferred to rehab hospital, and is not allowed vistitors till weekend. We will lower her through the roof if we need to to get her with us! Richard, cheap flights on delta.com and airtran.com. . We could probably find some bunk space for a few out of town guests! You could see southern hospitality--We are talking cookout, maybe crawfish boil, shorts, volleball, campfire, fishing, hiking, type deal. Real sofisticated southern! Oh yeah, and music, so singers and performers and musical instruments are desired. You could make more fun of my california girl turned southern accent! "We may say ya'all, but we still heed His Call"....Ugh, you get the part where corny humor is welcome. Greg and family are interrupting their vacation to join us, so we plan on keeping the vacation mode alive. Enjoying one of the things we miss about adventism--saturday gatherings that linger till the late hours. (except we can actually dive in the water, instead of "accidently" falling in.). I know I will not be able to be there with you. I also know it will be a wonderful weekend and God will be in the midst of all of you. Have fun and let us know what it was like when it is over. I am constantly amazed by the Christian fellowship I have found since leaving Adventism. We belong to a BIG family. God is surely awesome in all he does with us. Diana |

Sabra, dont know of any young kids yet, we should know more this weekend. We are not planning to have child care at this point. More like some friends and friends-to-be just getting together. My son is 13, Greg's boys are 13 and 15. They should be there most of the time. We are most likely meeting at a private home, the places we are considering have lakes/pools, so supervision for young ones would be important. |
