Have any of you received mailouts from these recently? I got two yesterday. One was called,"An open letter to the Nathaniels and Nicodemuses". The other was "Time". I didn't even look at the last one, I just tossed it after reading the first enough to know it wasn't from the Adventist...but to the Adventist. Why I received it I don't know....I'm not supposed to be on the church roles anymore and it was obviously sent to Adventist to warn them about the dangers of NOT receiving "additional light" from other prophets. It had 8 scriptures and 18 Ellen White quotes. It was really strange and filled with double talk (which was strangely familiar). I have not received any Adventist related publications for at least six years and we have moved during that period of time. We are unlisted and unpublished, however, they had my correct name, marital status, and current address. So, I suppose I'm still on some church records somewhere because some "well meaning" Adventist relative has kept them with my updated address. Just wondering if anyone else had received those.... |

Not here--what general geographic area received these? There are local branches of Davidians here and there...I know there is one near where we live, but I don't hear much from them. Colleen |

Lori, Perhaps someone you knew as an Adventist, or a well meaning relative, started studying Ellen White more, and became a Davidian. I've gotten mailings from the Seventh-day Adventists for many years and never got anything from the Davidians. I think I even knew a one or two Davidians when I went to church... God only knows. General Geographics--Southeast, more specifically, Gulf States Conference I hadn't really thought about someone I knew becoming a Davidian but then again there are so many people I used to "know" who don't communicate with me anymore since I'm no longer "one of them". If you don't want to receive the Adventist publications it's easy to put a stop to it...even a magazine subscription someone bought for you. It takes about 3 months of writing refused on everything they send to you. After having to pay postage several times to have their trash returned to them they will stop sending it. |

We keep refusing SDA publications. But My husband's granparents keep reupping the subscriptions, so every year or so they start coming again. Then we have to get them to stop etc.... I was wondering, though, when you refuse the subscription, does the publication staff refund the money to the one who paid for it? I would hope so. I hope they are refunding his granparents so they don't keep paying for something that we are not even receiving any longer. -tanya-
