I was looking at the fundamental beliefs of the church and under the Sabbath doctrine, and it says that the Sabbath contains the "seal of God" but Im not finding anywhere in the chapter that we are sealed by the Sabbath. Im just trying to be fair and balanced. I might add that in the Holy Spirit capter 5 I did not find a bible reference that we are sealed by the Holy Spirit. |

As I understand it, the old covenant (10 Commandments) is like an agreement between a leader or king, and within that covenant there will be a place where the name of the king is spelled out, thus explaining why the king has the right to tell his subjects what the laws of the land are. The 4th commandment spells out why God has the right to tell us, his subjects, what to do. The 4th commandment names Him as creator (Exodus) or liberator/redeemer (Deuteronomy). That name is the seal of the document or covenant. It does not seal us, however. It is like a blob of wax with the king's seal on it. We have been assured that we are sealed by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13). That is personal. It's not printed on a page, or defined on a calendar, but rather is written on a person's very being. |
