Another student standing up for the sabbath!

My wife and I were discussing that people who make a stand on the Sabbath don't seem to relate it to Jesus. This article details the doctrine of the church, and don't seem to mention Jesus at all.

You are so right. No mention of Jesus, but a good synopsis of the SDA beliefs.
When my son discovered he liked the military, he asked me why God gave him this interest when the SDAs teach differently. I told him that he should talk to God about it, because I did not know. When he chose the military as a career, I was happy for him. He had talked to God about it and he is in the military.
God has a place for that young man. I pray he finds it.
Our God is so awesome in how He leads people.

I read that article. Wow! I was unaware that the SDA's still have such huge boarding high schools. Anyway, when I attended MBA we were forbidden to even keep score because as the article mentioned competition was not allowed. We were told we played the sports for the physical exercise and to teach us cooperation, etc. Oh course, everyone kept score mentally anyway but it was not officially allowed. The boy the article focused on seems like a lovely young man. i will pray for the Good Lord's leading in his choice of carreer. what really struck me about the article is that most people reading the do's and don't of the SDA religion would see very little in them as having to do with Christianity. It really makes adventism come off sounding like a cult.
