Yesterday I went with my youngest sister and two or her grandchildren to have a train ride with Santa Claus. The 2 kids loved it. The boy is 6 and the girl is 4. After we went out to eat they brought me home. The kids wanted to come in so I asked my sister if they could stay a while. The 6 year old asked, "how much is a while?" So I looked at my sister and said a half hour. Well the kids came in with my sister and the boy asked me when I was going to take out my Christmas tree and decorate it. I told him I would probably do it next week end and that I would do it by myself. The little guy looked at me and said,"it takes team work to do some things". So my sister and these two grandchildren will come over Saturday afternoon and help me decorate my tree. I have been thinking about the team work quote and he is right. God does not want us to journey alone. That is why we have each other, for teamwork, to encourage each other, pray for each other, help each other when we can. Like I said above, Out of the mouths of babes, comes truth. Please pray for this sister as she is an unchurched SDA who has not been in any church for years. Her grandchildren go to the Mormon church with their other grandparents every Sunday. My sister's DIL told me, about two years ago, that she reads the Bible after she puts the children to bed. She told me she was curious about the various Bible stories she had heard about but never read about them herself. So pray for her also. I have a LARGE family and gradually all of them are making it onto this site as I ask you to pray for them. I just had to share the teamwork quote with all of you. Diana |

Diana, Thanks for sharing the important concept of teamwork. By the way, today is a very special day--my 60th birthday. I enjoyed dining out at my favorite restaurant, Ruby Tuesday, with my wife, daughters, and grandchild. The food was wonderful (maybe too good :>). I am assuming that it would be inappropriate to ask God to double my age. Many on this forum are still young enough to do that. Oh well, I will soon adjust to this new decade in my life. So far, every decade has brought new blessings to me. The older we grow, the more we realize that no one who is as young as we are, is old. Growing old has one advantage: you'll never have to do it over again. Dennis Fischer |

Dennis, A Very Happy Birthday to you. I pray you have many more. It sounds like you had a good time. I understand completely about people as young as we are not being old. We are not old, we are just better. Like a good wine. You are one of the people to whom I wrote when I found out about EGW. I still have that e-mail on my computer, somewhere. You were very encouraging. Thank You so much. Like you, I am in awe of God. Diana |

Happy Birthday, Dennis! Actually, Diana, your post about how it takes teamwork reminded me (even before the latest post from Dennis) of when I had also communicated with him by e-mail early on in discovering SDA problems. He encouraged me to come to this forum, and I said I didn't know if I was ready for a group thing or not. Thanks for the encouragement, Dennis. It has been very helpful interacting with this team! Happy Birthday Dennis! I have been reading your posts long before I came to this forum as I lurked for about 1 year or so before posting anything. Your insights into Adventism and of course Reformed theology have been very inspiring. Thanks again, and may you have many more birthdays! Stan |

Happy Birthday, Dennis! I wish you joy, peace, and many more birthdays! I've noticed that when we are in Christ, age seems not to have such a limiting effect on people. God continues to use them and keep them working in His vineyard for as long as He sees fit, and that is often decades into what most people consider "retirement". We praise God for how powerfully He uses you! Colleen |

Dear Dennis, I think this is the first time I have personally written to you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY........youngster!! LOL I'm a bit ahead of you, so remember to "Show some respect, Dennis!!!" LOL Remember, NOW, you ARE allowed to tell everyone what you've wanted to tell them for the past many moons, and they will NOW bow in awe before you, for NOW your great wisdom will FINALLY be recognized and honored! LOL NOT! But it does give you a decided advantage. Not many of these other young whipper-snappers have been around the block as many times as you and some of the rest of us "old wise buzzards" have and learned what we have learned. That is priceless! God bless you. Relax and enjoy. Now you won't have to apologize or give excuses for not doing things so fast anymore, and no one looks down at you for taking that ice tea break or that snooze in the afternoon, you've secretly longed to do and NOT feel guilty over! :c) Jess't another wise old bird

Dennis, Although I am a bit late wishing you a happy birthday the wish is no less sincere. I truly enjoy reading your comments on this discussion board and I especially enjoy your humor. And, yes, Diana, teamwork is a good thing. If only I could get the rest of my team to do it my way! |
