Evidently doug batchelor and amazing facts are coming to Fort Worth. I heard an ad on a christian radio station (KVTT or KCBI ... don't know which as I switch back and forth an didn't pay attention) yesterday afternoon. Of course there is no mention of an sda connection during the ad and it's buried pretty deep in the web-site (www.05revive.com). I guess that shouldn't surprise anybody too much, though. Pray for north Texas. It starts tomorrow night and runs through November 12. |

I sent a prayer request on the site that all who attend will have the Holy Spirit guide them to rely on Jesus alone for thier salvation and find theis Sabbath rest in Him alone. |

Dear All, My prayers are for clarity for all who attend this. I also wanted to share something that struck me as I listened to the speaker at my Bible Study last night. We are studying II Timothy, and since that was Paul's final epistle before he was executed for his faith, there are some real gems in that small book. At any rate, the speaker mentioned the Christian's armor, and one of those items is the Helmet of Salvation. Notice that our heads (brains, minds) are protected by our knowledge of our own salvation. I never really quite made that connection until last night. God wants his own to KNOW THEY ARE SAVED! It is from this knowledge that we obtain the strength to continue in the fight or the race (two other favorite metaphores of Paul's). When EGW told all of the SDA followers that they dare not say they are saved, she is literally pulling the rug out from under them and removing the greatest source of their strength and power. Thank you, Jesus, that I can be confident in my salvation! Belva |

Belva, that is so true. I referrence Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. If you have not air you cannot go on to the next level of life and on up. If you have no assurance of salvation you cannot go to the next level of sharing with others. |

Belva, I've pondered the implications of the helmet of salvation, also. It's so interesting that our thoughtsóour logic and reason, which are essentially mental as opposed to purely spiritual functions--are protected by our salvation. I'm sure there are implications re: the indwelling Holy Spirit who is the seal of our salvation--but our minds are protected! Such an interesting fact. Colleen |

I have asked God to send His Holy Spirit to each person attending and teach them the truth of the Bible. And I could not find any connection to the SDA church. Gee, I wonder why???? Diana |

I just went to the 05revive site listed above and clicked on "Theme Song". Wow, that was spooky! Has anyone else listened to this song? And if so, did it come through okay? I tried twice and both times it started to drag slower and slower and then started cutting out. I didn't finish listening to it either time. Too weird! |

The words are something else. The ones I remember are "revive us Lord, make us like your son." I guess that means we should be perfect. The words rub me the wrong way. Thank God, all I need is Jesus and His blood covers me. Diana |

Diana, I could barely decipher the words. I have never had a problem listening to music through my computer before so it seemed strange to me that this particular song sounded so creepy. Does it come through okay for the rest of you or is it just my computer???? If it sounds like this to the folks in Texas, Doug might want to save himself a trip. (Pretend I inserted a smiley face here) I'm also praying for discernment for anyone attending his meetings. Be there Holy Spirit! |

I watched the "About Doug Sermon" and his background doesn't surprise me. No biblical teachings growing up. He lived around the entertainment industry as I did. It is easy to be deceived into believing the wrong doctrine. Another unsaved pastor in the SDA church talking about his 7 Steps to Salvation book. It seemed like he was just bragging throughout about how rich his dad was and sharing about all the celebrities his mother knew (showing pictures of her with them). He was too proud to call his family when he got hungry so he ate out of garbage cans and as a kid he stole from his rich neighbors and took drugs. How sad. Nothing SDA spoken of. The bait. Just another sermon, you know. Oh, it's Adventist? I bought it on television watching It is Written back in 1989. Later is when you learn the truth. The shut door type of learning. |

Gmatt, I got the music score but not the sound on my computer. Of course I did not turn up my sound, so that could be the reason. Father in heaven, you know best how to reach each individual. Be with those at the AF meeting each night. Send the Holy Spirit to show them which is Bible truth and which is not. Save them for you Lord and for your Honor and Glory. You are awesome. Diana |

I finally found where the SDA church is mentioned. It is hidden in the article about reclaiming lost members. Again, I say, thank God I am a member of God's family as a Christian. Diana |

Last night I was listening to KKLA radio 99.5 FM and the Living by the Word radio program hosted by Craig Hawkins, who used to substitute host on the Bible Answer Man, and he worked closely with the late Walter Martin. A caller who said he was SDA called in to ask about Adventism, and to ask whether it was a cult. The caller claimed that Doug Batchelor was a millionaire televangelist. Has anyone ever heard about Doug's financial status? It was exciting to hear Craig Hawkins distance himself from his former boss, Walter Martin. Because, Hawkins asked this caller if he believed EGW had equal authority with the Bible, and whether or not he believed in the IJ, and whether or not he believed in Sunday as the mark of the beast. The caller said he believed in all of these things, and then the caller hung up. Hawkins said he would have to assume that this caller was not a believer. Hawkins reiterated that these doctrines were not compatible with Biblical Christianity. In fact the show was also about the Reformation doctrine of justification by faith alone. Hawkins went on to say groups like Catholicism and SDA who deny this Reformation teaching are counterfeits, and it is time that evangelicalism says so. But the trends are moving away from doctrinal purity. Stan |

I read an autobiographical article by Doug Batchelor some time ago where he said his family was very wealthy Maybe it was a book, anyway that was his claim. |

Doug's father owned one of the airlines before he died, and Doug has proven to be a very astute businessman. Yes, 05Revive is in Fort Worth and is being done in conjunction with 3ABN. Danny Shelton and John Lomacang are part of it, and anyone who has access to 3ABN you can watch it. |
