Stan, I am a bit belated in congratulating you on your excellent article in the latest issue of Proclamation (but delivery of my Proclamation was a bit belated as well). It was a very good, well written article that I enjoyed.

I also love both parts of the title. Solio Deo Gloria is a beautiful title that sums up so much in just three little Latin words. If I ever get a tattoo I think it just might say, "Solio Deo Gloria". :-) Also, being a healthcare professional myself, I was able to really appreciate that you made your story a "case study" rather than a "testimony". That was clever!

Thank you again for the excellent article. And while I am at it, let me thank you for all your contributions to this forum. It has been a pleasure having you here and discussing issues with you.

Sincerely,

Chris Lee

Thank you Chris. I would also like to thank you for all the great discussions we have had. You have a way of articulating the issues so clearly, and are very knowledgeable on many issues, and I have appreciated your corrections also.

This gift of God's grace to our family just keeps on giving. Allow me just a short follow-up. This past week, the sister who followed shortly after me in leaving Adventism, and at the time created such tension in the relations between my folks and I, as I was thought to be leading my sister out of the true church, well she came out from Louisiana just in time to avoid the hurricane-they live inland so they are fine. Anyway, she accompanied me on the piano while I played a trumpet solo, called "The Holy City" with both of my folks in the audience on SUNDAY A.M., at the church my father had discovered. I cracked a few notes, as I am rusty, but it was a great moment of deep emotion. Then to top off the weekend, my father sat down with my sister and I, and we reminesced about those "good old days of Adventism". My dad, with some emotion, expressed his thankfulness to both of us for courageously presenting to him the truth even when it hurt so much. He says now he reads Romans, and lately started studying the doctrines of grace in Ephesians, as well as Galatians. He said to us, "I don't know how I ever taught the things that I used to teach when I was so zealous for Adventism. I don't know how that religion can even exist with the Bible being so clear." He is still somewhat frustrated by my Mom's resistance to see the same truth he does, but at least she goes to church with him every Sunday, and she loves the pastor's teaching as he teaches verse by verse and even made the last six verses of 1 Cor. 16 interesting! Even she commented on how well this pastor teaches. Also, this church is in a very poor section of Colton, Calif. and they have a lot of ex-cons and ex-drug addicts who go there. So where sin abounds, grace does much more abound!

I enjoy the fellowship every Friday night with our FAF group Bible Study, and i so much enjoy participating with everyone of you on this forum. Thanks for allowing this opportunity to express another chapter in what has been a marvelous manifestation of God's wondrous grace. I just have this feeling that the story isn't completed yet.

SOLI DEO GLORIA,

Stan

Richard, It is Colton Community Church on Mt Vernon just north of the 10 freeway. It's not far from where you live.

Stan, I to appreciated your story in the Proclamation. I got mine last week up here in the northern hinterland. The Holy City has been a staple for us TRUMPET players over the years. It would have been fun to hear you. Keep up those long tones and buzz your mouthpiece as you drive to work. Randy

Hi Dr. Randyg,
Glad to hear from another TRUMPET player! It has been years since I really seriously played. To get myself motivated again I had to invest in a new trumpet. Do you still play your horn?

Stan
