All credit for this story goes to Cindy. She mentioned on the sub-thread of New Covenant theology called Thought Inspiration a story of a Bartholomew Brewer, former Catholic priest, who then became an SDA pastor for four years, and then became a Baptist. This is a fascinating story as I believe Romanism and Adventism are inspired by the same spirit-not the Spirit of Truth! I had not heard this story before until Cindy mentioned it, and I wonder if anyone else has heard this story. You can find it at www.jesus-is-lord.com/bart.htm Stan |

Stan, I have not heard of it. I'm certainly going to check it out on the site you gave. Sounds quite intriguing alright. Jess |

I saw it when Cindy mentioned it and I tried to find something on the web, but I got the spelling wrong. Thanks for the link. I will go read it. Diana |

if you look at that "jesus-is-lord.com" site it is very fundamental. All-versions-except-KJV-are of-the-devil type site. This Brewster guy seems on the right track. I hope he is not associated with these guys. It's possible he's on this site at all only because he is a former Catholic, which is too bad. Concernedly, Hannah |

Yes Hannah, I had the very same concerns. In one part of the website, they even said that you have to be careful who you say "God bless you" to, because if they are not true Christians (probably meaning their brand of Christian), then you're asking God to bless their evilness, which makes you a participant, or something like that. Really strange stuff. |

I am not endorsing any other part of the website either. In fact it seems hate filled. I did not see that Brewster was directly associated with the site. The KJV only garbage is awful. When I posted the link I was onjly concentrationg on the story which I think is quite remarkable. 10 years a Catholic Priest, and then went to SDA seminary and spent 4 years as an SDA Pastor, until he had to resign because he could not push the "Testimony Countdown" series which was a major big deal in the early 70's. But I guess the point is that the Holy Spirit eventually leads people out of false systems. However the spirit of fundamentalism which is manifested on the rest of the web site is very troubling. In fact the spirit of fundamentalism is just as bad as the llegalistic spirit found in RCC and SDA. Stan |

Stan, Thanks for sharing the remarkable testimony of B. Brewster. God is busily calling many people out of Adventism as never before. BTW, your article in Proclamation was excellent. We just received Proclamation magazine in the mail last Monday. In awe of His grace, Dennis Fischer |
