as well as a whole host of other denominations be saved according to John 3:16? I wonder this as I worry about my extended SDA family, since I have given my life whole heartedly over to Jesus Christ and it is now easier to see the misguided info they teach? Have a blessed day! Hebrews 3:13 |

The answer is "yes". Salvation has nothing to do with denominations or even "religion" (all the man made trappings). Salvation is entirely dependent on belief in Christ. This is not a mere intellectual belief, but a faith that acknolwedges and embraces the resurrected Jesus of scripture as the the living Lord of all and the Lord of your life. All those who have repented and put their full faith and trust in the Jesus of the Bible as their Lord and Savior will be saved. But even this faith we are talking about is not a meritorious act in any way. It is something that God does in you through His grace. It should be noted that the flip side to this is that those who are putting their faith in anything other than Jesus for their salvation are lost souls. While there are many SDAs who have put their full faith in Jesus and who are saved, it scares me to think of how many might be depending on their membership in the SDA denomination, or Sabbath keeping, or EGW, or diet, or being "right", or a host of other things to save them. All of these things will disapoint. Chris |

EGW said that once a SDA gives up being SDA that person has given up eternal life with Jesus. Awhile back Pastor Paulson, the GC president made a staterment that he stakes his salvation on his SDA membership. I think that is really going beyond the teachings of Jesus and the rest of the NT. Absoutelly none of the denominations that exist now were around qhen Christianity began. In fact, isn't the counsil to the 7 churches just that, not getting hung up on denominalism? Buzz, I don't think we've met before now. It's good hearing your imput. |

Salvation is a free gift from God when a person accepts Jesus Christ and all He did for us. We do not have to work for it. Anything else is not Biblical. When I learned that I was so happy and so thankful for Jesus and I still am. He is so awesome. Diana |
