Happy birthday and God bless you Hannah! Oh to be 29 again!!!! Enjoy your youth. I've been kind of keeping track, and it sounds like a few of us were born in 1961.....must have been a good year! Love you all, and thanks for your prayers Colleen and PraiseGod. It's been a sad day, but also full of good memories. Carol |

For those of you born in '61, do you realize that the entire eastern seaboard had a blackout the prior year. You know how it is, when you can't watch tv... |

Hannah, Happy Birthday, Feliz Cumpleanos, Joyeau Anniversaire. May God give you many more. As for age, my son has told me I look 21 and act 21. That is what kids are supposed to say and I love him for it and for being my son. I have a very young heart and outlook on life. Diana |

Happy Birthday, Hannah! I've often wished it were possible to redo one's 20's and 30's with the understanding and insight one has by 50. As I think about it, though, a lot of my missing insight was due to a certain cult which filtered my view of reality. I see both my sons having insight and wisdom at their tender ages (they'd have my hide for that adjective!) of 22 and 18 that I didn't have until much later. Diana, that son of yours is good for your self-image! Hang onto him! Colleen |

Wow, Hannah, you are not yet old enough to run for President. Of course, I am old enough but nobody ever encouraged me :>). Anyway, a belated happy birthday to you, Hannah. |

I was born in 1961. Didn't know about a eastern blackout, but then that would explain what was conceived in darkness will be brought out into the light. |

I was just thinking the other day when every was posting their 20 something ages...I don't feel much different than I did at 20-something, but the wisdom I have now just can't be taught in text books. Age can bring a lot of things to a person, some good things, and some bad. My grandfather died today, and he was 88 years old. The wisdom he had just can't be comprehended by someone with "youth" on their side. On the "if only" thread, I could make a list a mile long, but the things I'd change would all requires that wisdom that age gave me...and some of it because I had gone through those things. I was born in 1962...and I think it was a very good year. Look at it this way, having another birthday is better than not... ...but I guess that depends upon how you view death too.... To live is Christ, to die is gain.... To age or not to age...those seem to be the only options once you're here... Happy Birthday, Hannah. Another day to serve and learn and share and grow. Those with youth don't know what they've got! I really grieved turning 30 because I thought I was too old to have any more kids...then I found myself 6 months pregnant at 40. Silly me. If I could have youth or wisdom, but not both...I do think I'd take the wisdom. The benefit of youth is that you don't realize how dumb you are and by the time you're smart enough to know, you've forgotten most of it anyway. Live for today and be thankful for all life's blessings. I'm going to celebrate my 29th birthday for the 13th time this year. |

Melissa, I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa. That sort of event creates a lot of nostalgia, introspection, and just plain sadness. Were you close to him? I really related to your comments about youth and aging. Turning 30 was not a big deal to me; turning 40 was a bit of a hiccup. It was turning 50 that shocked me. I simply cannot be that old! (Actually I'm not--I'm 51 now!) I'd rather be me now than at any time in the past, but the impact of being what I used to consider completely spent (little did I know!) unnerves me at times. Knowing who I am in Christ, though, has really impacted the way I see my life in the past few years. I realize that neither society nor age can limit my productivity or usefulness. As long as God puts His work in front of me, I have an obligation to be faithful and not to doubt that in His and kingdom, I am who He wants me to be and will do what He equips me to do. He actually defines me, not society or even the knee that now periodically hurts when I stand up...! Yep, Melissa--29 looks good...again! Colleen |

Colleen, You, like Bob, do not look your age and I have a feeling neither of you act your age either! Melissa, I am sorry about your grandfather. You are in my prayers today as always. |

Well, I was born in 1950. I really don't feel all that old until I realize that my Children are 31 and 28! And being a Grandma reminds be also. But I've enjoyed each stage in my life and right now I think this is THE BEST! I do admire all of you younger ones that have so much wisdom. I wish I'd had that at your age! But I know that where I am now is according to God's plan, and praise Him for leading me out of slavery. I'll use my past as a learning experience, and maybe I can use that to help someone else along the way! Melissa, I'm so sorry to hear of your Grandfather's passing. I'll pray for peace to you and your family and may time bring you good memories. |

Melissa, I am so sorry to hear about your Grandfather. You are in my prayers. Seekr & Bob, I am older than you two and am very happy right where I am at this time in my life. Thank You God!!! Colleen, I will hang on to that son of mine. Because of the way I raised him, with God's help, he did not have to go through all the junk SDAs his age have gone through leaving the church. His name is still on the church books, but he does not attend an SDA church and does not agree with their docrine. He is 33. Diana |
