I am posting this again, as we have a lot of new people on this forum and we want you to know about our prayer chain. I was not sure if you scrolled down far enought to learn about the prayer chair. God is working miracles. The prayer chain was started last summer. This is when all former SDAs pray at the same time for our friends, relatives and all those in the SDA church from the GC down to the smallest church. We pray for unchurched formers, for Christians who are getting involved with SDAs, like with a Revelation Seminar and for Christians who think SDAs are just another Christian church. We pray at sundown every Friday in our own time zones. Then on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM Pacitic Time, 4 PM East coast time and what ever the time is in your time zone, we pray as a group for all the groups mentioned above. We have formers in Mexico, across the US, England, Europe and I forget what other countries that join us at those times. Where there are 2 or 3 praying, God is in their midst. So please join us where ever you may be for our prayer circle. We will see more and more how awesome God is when we see how He answers our prayers. Jesus is all we need. Diana |

I have posted this verse about prayer before, but it is worth repeating. I Sam 12:23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. Samuel was praying for the children of Israel when he prayed this. Well, I feel like Samuel about praying. I do not want to sin my failing to pray for all SDAs, unchurched SDAs, FAFers(that we remain in Christ and stay close to Him), and all those mentioned that we are praying for. Even though we are not physically together, we are together in the best way possible. The Holy Spirit is in our midst and takes our prayers to heaven. Jesus said he is in our midst where 2 or 3 are gathered together and at this time I have no idea how many are praying, but there are many of us. I love God's promises and I love God as much as my human heart can. It is a drop in the bucket compared to how much God loves me. Praise God, He is a very awesome God. Diana |

Thank you Diana. I am brand new to the forum having just registered this weekend. I will join the prayer chain, gladly. I am still on the SDA roster and though we are currently attending a Sunday church in the area, we are reluctant to totally cut ties with our Adventist heritage. (whatever it's worth). We're probably trying to avoid the inevitable 'sad stares' and head shakes from our family and friends. Anyway, I will heartily pray for all those listed in your explanantion and thank you again. God IS an awesome God and I praise him for unveiling my eyes. Patria |

Welcome, Patria! We're glad you've joined us. God will heal your heart, and as you grow in Him, your attachment to Adventism will weaken in the light of His new life and love. What an exciting time for you to be transitioning--Easter is almost here. I'm betting it will be a completely different experience for you this year than ever before since you know Jesus. We look forward to hearing more of your story! Colleen |

Patria, welcome! I share your current experience being reluctant to totally cut ties with the culture (heritage) of Adventism. Walking away from something you've believed implicitly for so long will never be easy. Leaving friends and family behind further compounds the difficulty. In time, through the working of the Holy Spirit, I'm confident the way will be made clear. I'll be praying for His leading in your life as well. In Christ, Greg |

Patria, welcome, may you find true friends here in cyberland. I began tentatively checking in here every few days, now I check in every few hours. These are wonderful, supportive, and Bible friendly people. They have been fooled once by the SDA methods of Bible study, and will no longer be fooled. We look forward to your story, and we look forward to walking in faith with you. Give me Jesus Belva |

Patriar, Believe me, I know exactly where you're coming from. This subculture we've become entreched in is not easy to walk away from for many of us. I think you and I are in similar places in our journey. My wife works for the SDA church. ALL of our friends are SDA and all but one of my 6 year-old son's friends are SDA -- the only friends he's ever known, really. There are so many questions. What will happen to my son's world if their parents give us the cold shoulder and he is left alone with no friends? Most of our family are Adventist and are wonderful people who we love very much. But what will my dear Grandmother say when she finds out? She'll be absolutely devastated. Of all her kids or grandkids, I was the least of her worries, partly because of my wife. My grandmother has spent thousands to pay for my Adventist education grades 1 through 12 plus one year of tuition at the ghastly expensive LSU. What will my denominationally employed in-laws (who currently hold me in high esteem) do when they find out that I'm the one responsible for leading their favorite daughter into damnation? So, Patriar, you are definitely in my prayers and I'll be thinking of you. I know there are so many "what ifs" and it all seems so unsettling and frightening but I know that our Lord will see you through and never leave your side. Everything in God's time. Welcome to the forum, Patriar! |

Patriar, Welcome to FAF. You will find you can write about anything here and some one can identify with you as you exit adventism. I found a text in Luke 18:29,30 "..no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will FAIL TO RECEIVE MANY TIMES AS MUCH IN THIS AGE AND IN THE AGE TO COME, ETERNAL LIFE." Through this web site, I have met many lovely Christian people and we pray with and for each other and discuss all kinds of things. Just wanted to share that with you. My leaving adventism was not really as bad as some, as God started pulling me out 30 years ago. But many on this forum will be able to identify with you. You are in my prayer book. Oh, welcome to the prayer chain also. God is awesome. Diana |

Patriar, I am also brand new, but I want to share this with you. Last summer as God was gently showing us the truth about our beloved church we thought our heart would be ripped out. All that was familiar, good and bad, has been inside the Adventist culture. All my family are Seventh Day Adventists, there are two pastors included, a number of teachers.... I'm talking 3 generations on all sides including my husbandís family, Oh, and missionaries too.... It seemed too much for us to do. My husband and I both had a series of night- mares even contemplating the thought of telling everyone in our lives that we are not Adventists any more. Then a friend took me to hear Ann Graham Lotz(Billy Graham's daughter). I had just recently learned that Jesus Himself was the Sabbath, and that the Sabbath day was a shadow of Jesus, but not the real thing.... that JESUS is the real thing... All evening Ann talked about Jesus. There was an alter call. There were thousands of people there. I don't like getting emotional, and really hate making a scene, but I decided to say YES to the Spirit who was asking me to please go down to the alter. I got down there and I knelt down on my knees and I traded my beloved Sabbath for Jesus. For me, trading the Sabbath for Jesus was not an easy trade. Unlike many Adventists I talk to who have terrible memories of the Sabbath, the Sabbath in our family held nearly all good memories. My grandmother was Russian Jew, came to Ellis Island at the turn of the century. She was raised Orthodox Jew, and even had a "Gentile" light candles for them on Friday night. Grandma was orphaned at a very young age after her mother died of illness and her father and brother committed suicide. She and her two sisters were placed in separate orphanages. Grandma hung on to all that she remembered about the traditions of her family because that's all she had. She later became a Christian/Adventist, which made the Sabbath not only the right day to worship, but a HUGE family tradition. So trading the Sabbath for Jesus was one of the most gut wrenching things I've ever done. I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed for a good 40 minutes. Jesus is so much more then His Shadow. He rests me from the inside out. He frees me from my burdens. He IS MY TRADITION. I have never known such freedom in my life. As for the challenges we have had to face, there have been many. One thing is sure, you find out who loves you as is, and who needs you to be a certain way for them to love you. I'm telling you this story so that you can know that any human tangle that is made by your choosing to leave Adventism is covered in Jesus Christ. He has proved himself over and over, and our experience is only one of the thousands out there. He will tell you when the time is right. He will give you the words to say, He will empower you with a boldness and strength you may have never known. And in the mean time I am praying for you, that you will find peace. God Be With You. Lisa

Dear Diana, Thank you for especially asking for prayer for the people posting on the R/S site. That means the SDA's as well. These are precious souls in God's sight. My observation is that a few of them are still putting too much stock in their own power, and thus not enough in the power of our Saviour. I am going to recommend that we add the element of praying that they come to understand where all power comes from, and then be willing to surrender to Jesus. Belva |

I am sure all of you on this forum have noticed how many new people we have welcomed to the forum this past week. God is answering our prayers, so let us keep it up. God is not willing that any should perish and He loves each of us. So let us continue to pray for all SDAs, from the GC, down to the smallest church. Let us continue to pray for unchurched formers, for those coming in contact with SDAs and for those churches that think the SDA church is just another Christian church. God is calling His own and they are responding. Let us not forget those posting on the R/S site, formers and SDAs. When I see a new poster on here telling something of how God took them out of the SDA church I praise God and I want to cry. I feel so privileged to belong to such a prayer chain. Keep up the prayers all you prayer warriors. God is answering our prayers. He is so awesome. Diana |

I have shared the link to this website with some of my Christian friends who have never had any connection to Adventism. I know that some of them are now "lurkers" here. Two weeks ago, one of my friends at church remarked to me about how thrilling it is to see so many new people finding their way out of Adventism. Share this site with your Christian friends! They may just pass it on to someone who really needs to be here interacting with us.

My weekly reminder to remember to pray at sundown in your time zone, tomorrow evening. Then on Saturday, at 1 PM in the afternoon, Pacific time and 4 PM East coast time and what ever the time is in your area we pray as a group. Just think of all our prayers going up to heaven at the same time. It is mind boggling. God is hearing us and bringing His sheep out of the SDA church. So let us continue to pray for all SDAs, unchurched SDAs, those coming in contact with SDAs and those churches that think the SDA church is another Christian church. And let us especially remember the SDAs on the R/S web site. God is showing us how awesome He is. Diana |

My weekly reminder for the prayer chain. When we pray at sundown, in our own time zones, tomorrow evening and at 1 PM Saturday afternoon PT and 4 PM ET and whatever the time is in your time zone, please do not forget the SDA posters on the R/S web site. Thank you, Diana. I believe we really need to be consious of praying for God to reveal truth as the GC session comes closer. As you said, we need to pray for those Christians who need to understand Adventism's true nature, and we need to pray for those in its bondage to be freed so they can see and accept Jesus and commit to walking in integrity and truth. The weekly reminder for the prayer chain. Tonight, Friday, 5/20/05, at sundown in our time zones and tomorrow, 1 PM Pacific Time, 4 PM East Coast Time and what ever the corresponding time is in your area. Let us pray for the GC session in St. Louis-those taking part in it that the Holy Spirit will convict them and they will see the need for only Jesus and the FAF people with whatever God will have them do. Then there is the SDA church, from the GC president down to the smallest church, the unchurched former, those coming under the influence of the SDA church, and those churches who think the SDA church is just another Christian Church. I think I have every one here. If I forgot some one, please let me know. There is a text in Numbers, I forget where, that says not to sin by neglecting to pray for others. I quoted it on the first thread for the prayer chain. Well, I do not want to sin by neglecting to pray for our SDA brothers and sisters caught in the clutches of Satan's deception in the SDA church. We all have family, friends there or they are unchurched, as are some of my brothers and sisters. The Holy Spirit will work on each person. God is calling his sheep and His sheep are answering. Thank you God. You are indeed AWESOME. Diana |

The weekly reminder for the prayer chain. We pray at sundown on Fridays in our own time zones. On Saturdays, we pray at 1 PM Pacific time, 4 PM East Coast Time and what ever your coresponding time zone is. We pray for the upcoming GC session in St. Louis that those who are taking part in it will listen to God and accept only Jesus. Then there are the FAF members who will be doing whatever God will have them do. We pray for those on the R/S web site, CARM and other like sites. For the formers posting there and for the SDAs that they will listen to God and accept Him without extrabiblical help. We pray for all the SDA church members from the GC president to the smallest SDA church in the world, for those coming under the influence of SDAs, for the unchurched formers and for those churches and people who think the SDAs are just another Christian religion. The Bible tells us to ask and we will receive, seek and we will find, knock and the door will be opened. So let us raise our voices together as we pray for those in the clutches of the SDA church. Jesus is calling His sheep and they are listening and responding to His call. Thank You God. You are so awesome. Diana |
