This is a true story. I am the only female in a house full of boys. However, the boys have several female friends who come over sometimes. Down the street from us lives a little girl who comes over ALOT. She is 15. Awhile back we hadn't seen her for a week or so, so in this neighborhood we'd just assumed she must be in juvenile hall, a group home or CYA or some other instituation for young thugs. Well, we were wrong. She popped up at our door and came in, made herslf right at home and told us she'd been in the hospital and had an operation. Then she smilies at all the boys and tells them she can't get pregnant because the doctor took out her part that babies grow in. I right away asked her, "You mean your uterus?" She said no, that wasn't the word the doctor used. So, I asked her if it was her overies or her fallopian tubes. No, none of those words sounded right to her. Finily she smiled and said she remembered what the doctor said. She told us, "The doctor took out my appendix. Isn't that cool? Now I can do whatever I want with whoever I want and I can't get pregnant." One boy who is 14 was here and he said something about learning in school the internal organs and he never heard that the appendix had anything to do with getting pregnant. The girl went home and I took the boy in the kitchen and told him the facts of life and explained what the internal organs are called and what they do, etc. And, then I told him to not, not ever get with the girl that was at our house. He assured me he wouldn't because he wouldn't want is kid to have such a stupid mother. Well, o.k. Now about two months have passed since that conversation. Now the girl came over and told us she's pregnant. I told her, "Yeah, that happens sometimes after a girl has her appendix taken out." I guess in less than a year from now she'll be coming over to hang out with the boys bringing her little bambino with her. Ohhhh, this is real life! Can it get any more goofy? |
