No more news, yet. I want to know for sure, I need a burning bush! I'm so torn! Sick at my stomach kind of stress here.
Haggai kind of hit me like a brick, wow, short and not so sweet book. We were in the middle of building a bigger church there in Chatt, they currently run 3 services to hold everyone and really need it. I sort of took it like I abandoned the rebuilding and went back to take care of my own house.
Sometimes things are so clear and other times they just aren't.

To encourage you, I will tell you how God has cared for me. I moved to NV in November 2002. I had gotten a job with a phone interview a week after labor day weekend. I did not move until after the first of November. I arrived in NV Nov 12. I called the job and I started Dec 1. I was at that job 2 months. They wanted to fire me so gave me the choice to quit or be fired. I was told I did not do things correctly. But what I saw when I went through patient records was that everyone made the same type of mistakes I made. I quit.
I had another job a month later and had it for 6 months. I made a mistake with medicare documentation and it was found by medicare. It was the first time I had made a mistake like that. The company for which I worked was willing to keep me, but we were contracted to the nursing facility at which I worked and the administrator did not want me, so I was fired.
Now I was 62 years of age, without a job and a house with mortgage payments. I really prayed a lot.
In October I got a phone call from my present job and went in for an interview. I had sent them an resume when I was looking for a job after I left my first job. I was asked about my last job and I told the truth. The woman interviewing me told me "we all make mistakes" and then said she hoped to see me again. I started working October 20. Now my job is only part time. I do home health as an occupational therapist. I get paid a good hourly wage, but my patient caseload goes up and down. I was going to take another job in December. It was full time.
When I told my supervisor she did not like that. She told me that the 2 hospitals with which we are affiliated used prn help (hourly help when it is needed) all the time. So she went to bat for me and the hospitals started using me. Since then when I get paid I always have enought to pay my bills. I even make enough to get my house refinanced.
I have prayed about a full time job, but at this time it appears God wants me at this job and He assures me He will supply my needs. I have not lost any sleep over any of this. This job gives me the time to work on getting my business started. So I just say thank you God for supplying my needs.
God knows my age, my needs and everything else about me and He really takes care of me. Last week for example, my home health case load had gone way done and I had not been called to work at the hospitals. Wednesday afternoon I picked up my mail. Thursday I had 3 patients, and when I came home I prayed that God would supply my needs. Early evening I went into my bedroom and saw my mail from Wednesday. I shuffled through it and found an envelope from my old mortgage company. In it was a sizable check due to an overpayment from when that mortgage was paid. It had been there all day as I was asking God to supply my needs. It reminds me of the text "Before you call, I will answer and while you are yet speaking, I will hear".
So, from my experience, I know God lets us go through some rough times, but He does get us through them.
Each of us goes through our own rough times and to us they are bad, but, God does care for each of use. He gets us through them to His honor and glory. When I shared what God did for me with my younger sister at one time, she said, "Diana, you always land on your feet". I told her it was not me but it was God doing it. So what God lets me go through is not just for me and my relationship with God, it is to reach others, like my sister and her children. She will share with them what God does for me. I know she watches me and what God does for me.
I pray this helps you with what every thing you are going through at this time.

Diana, I am encouraged by your experience also. I want to have more faith to believe that God is and will always be My Provider. I like your reminder that our God is an AWESOME GOD!
Sabra, I too am trying to see what God wants of me in this stage of my life. I am ready for that burning bush answer right now!

I hesistated before putting my experience on here. I did not want anyone knowing what I am going through. It is a matter of pride on my part. But God impressed me to type it up and so I did. So I thank God you are encouraged by this experience. God has really taken care of me. I have often said, and it is similar to a burning bush answer, I want my future written in the sky or at least a piece of paper and handed to me so I will know exactly what He wants.
BUT, God understands me and knows what I need and want. So far I have not had the piece of paper, but that is okay, as each time God cares for me, my faith is strengthened. I am finally learning I really do not need that piece of paper. I have God's word and He tells me He will supply my needs. I am learning that is sufficient for me.
The more I see what God does for me and others the more I see how truly AWESOME he is.

Went back to Chattanooga for the weekend. My husband took that job there and his boss is a wonderful christian man, I think he said 72 years old.
He really likes my husband, sold him a 2003 Ford Explorer really reasonable and in great shape. I think I mentioned that his truck engine blew up a couple of months ago.
Church was great-of course. Sermon was on Is. 62. Living like the bride of Christ and letting Him open doors for you instead of opening your own doors. I can't really sum it up well but it was wonderful.
Sat. night Psalm 143 really spoke to me and then I get home today and Diana had forwarded me the most plain and direct Word! Thank you Diana!
Hope you don't mind me posting it, I just can't get over it!
LESSONS FROM ELISHA, PART 3
Going Your own Way
There are MANY lessons that we can learn from the prophet Elisha. This is
the third in a series, appearing in the next few Saturday editions of The
Nugget, focusing on the life of this great prophet.
"'Look,' they said, 'we your servants have fifty able men. Let them go
and look for your master. Perhaps the Spirit of the LORD has picked him
up and set him down on some mountain or in some valley.' 'No,' Elisha
replied, 'do not send them.' But they persisted until he was too ashamed
to refuse. So he said, 'Send them.' And they sent fifty men, who searched
for three days but did not find him. When they returned to Elisha, who
was staying in Jericho, he said to them, 'Didn't I tell you not to go?'"
(2 Kings 2:16-18)
We take up the story just as Elisha returns from witnessing the ascension
of Elijah into Heaven. Seeing that Elisha is returning alone, the sons of
the prophets say, "Let them go and look for your master!" Elisha's
initial response is understandable: "No!" After all, he has just seen
Elijah taken up to Heaven with a chariot of fire. He knows Elijah cannot
be found, because he is no longer on Earth.
But the sons of the prophets persist until Elisha gives in.
Why would Elisha give in, when he knows they will search in vain?
Because Elisha realized something very important: They needed to see for
themselves!
And through it all, these prophets learned a valuable lesson: When God
tells you something -- either directly or through a prophet or through
His Word -- you listen! You pay attention! You believe!
But God understands that we don't always have that kind of faith. He
recognizes that there is often so much going on in our lives that our
"listening skills" suffer. He knows that sometimes, in order for us to
grow in our faith and refine our abilities to hear His voice, He has to
let us do certain things that He knows is not best for us. So He allows
us to make our own choices, to go our own way. Just like Elisha would
have loved to spare those 50 men the trouble of looking for Elijah, God
would love to spare us the troubles He knows we will encounter when we
insist on doing our own thing. But He, like Elisha, is waiting with open
arms for us to return, to lovingly whisper in our ears, "Didn't I tell
you not to go?"
The next time you find yourself facing troubles brought on by the
decisions you have freely made, remember that God would have spared you
the trouble, had you followed His advice. But despite it all, He is
waiting for you to return to His way, to His plan, so that the blessings
may freely flow!

Looks like we will be moving back to Chattanooga, but I'm waiting to see what doors open for me before I do anything!

I loved your story Diana. I have had similar experiences and everytime I hear of someone else experiencing God's provision, it thrills me. Right now, I'm in a 12 week study on dealing with offenses. The most important thing that I have gotten from the class is the fact that when things happen to us on earth, heaven does not go into turmoil. God is not wringing his hands and saying, "Oh, no! What can we do?" He has a plan for each of us that encompasses our entire life, and nothing catches him by surprise. So, now I'm starting to pray differently about problems. I'm staring to pray, "Lord, I know you have a plan. Go ahead with your plan and let me know how I can cooperate." But, if I get in extreme circumstances, I'm sure I'll throw a big "Help!" into that prayer.

Please keep my son in your prayers. He is in county jail. I went to see him last Saturday. He was all happy because he said the judge told him he got 60 days on two sentences to be served consecutivally. Poor kid. He misunderstood and he really got 60 days concurrant on his two sentences. So getting out in September like he thinks is wrong and he will really get out in November. I guess I will have to be the to bear him the bad news when I go visit with him. |

I have an inportant prayer request. My son leaves in several days on a four month deployment. It will be an extremely hard time. He will be living with very harsh conditions and will honestly be in great danger on this mission. Please, please, please, keep him and his comrds in your prayers. And, his wife and small children will miss him so much. His wife is just learning English so it is hard o her. But, mostly it is him that is in a dangerous situtation. Thank-you very much. |
