Norman Gulley had an Article in Review February 1.th, 1990, under the heading "Jesus Our Example." I have looked in Review & Herald Archive, but the oldest Article is from June the same year. Do you know where I can find this Article, or if you possibly have a copy, would you please be so kind and mail it to me? My E-mail adresse is: willy.brochs@broadpark.no Than you! Willy, can you email the Review staff (perhaps through their website) and ask for a copy? It's good to hear from you again! How are you, and how is your wife doing? You continue to be in our prayers. Colleen |

I was wondering if any of you heard of this website? www.forgottenbytime.com In Tulsa in the Sunday paper and also in the mail box. I got a fold out flyer about this and also on the radio and TV they are runnning commercials on this. It is a seminar about the "land of the nile". It is put on by a guy named Tony Moore. You guys may now him but I have not heard of him. But in the flyer and on the radio and TV adds it never says who is putting this on. Well I was looking at the flyer that I got and it says go to this website above that I gave you. It is put on by STAF that is my old church STAF stands for "South Tulsa Adventist Fellowship" I thought this is kind of mean. Not telling anybody that this is a Seventh Day Adventist show. And you are anybody that looks into this and goes will not know what "STAF" is. A little sneaky. But has anybody heard of this Adventist Seminar before? speakeasy |

Speakeasy, I have never heard of him, but then, I have been out of the SDA church for a long time. But this deceptive tactic is not new to SDA evangelism. In fact, it is Standard Operating Procedure. I notice the church has now become an "auditorium" in their brochure. This is simply a new face put on the same old deception! |

I have not heard of Tony Moore, and I've been out of the SDA church barely six months. I looked at the website, and my thoughts are that it looks like another ploy to interest people. (An archaeological seminar sounds a lot less suspicious than interpreting beasts and dragons from Revelation.) I wonder how far off the original topic (archaeology) they'll eventually get. I also typed in the address for the meetings in Google, and it looks like it is being held in an Auditorium that is used for many things, so maybe the SDA church is starting the meetings outside of their church building. That's pretty normal for SDA evangelism meetings anyway. That is sneaky to only put their initials for who is hosting the seminar. If I saw initials only, I think my first question would be "what are they trying to hide?" |

My in-laws put on a series of old fashioned Rev. seminars disguised as "family togetherness" meetings. They totally misrepresented who they were and what the meetings were really about. It was pretty packed for the first night or so (It makes me sad that people were out there searching and deception is what they found! Now they may not ever go to another church's meetings because they they were misled!) until it started coming out that this was a religious set of meetings on SDA doctrine. It lasted a month (it started only a few days prior to 9/11 so you can imagine that they were promoting that Ellen predicted it!) and by the end of the month, there were like 5 non-SDA's there and all obviously bible students and not one compelled to be baptized SDA. It was sad really. Looking back, I was devestated because things kept going wrong. The powerpoint didn't work half the time, my f-i-l would get up there and lose his train of thought and ramble, so I would start praying in earnest for the Holy Spirit to help him...but it didn't work. Maybe that was the Holy Spirit's plan, to confound the meetings. Who knows? I also felt sorry for the in-laws because they are sincere people who gave a lot of time and money to have these meetings. Perhaps if they had been honest and told who they were, etc...

The only way I know this is an adventist seminar is because the website says the Seminar is at the STAF Auditorium. STAF (South Tulsa Adventist Fellowship) I used to go to this church. Has grown BIG TIME IN TULSA, I don't go to STAF anymore but I started a few years back and it was running 30 or so. But now I have been told on some Saturdays they will get anywere from 130 and up. But there "auditorium" is a vacated Tulsa public library. I don't know if they own the building. The Auditorium is not there church location. There church is about 3 miles away. I did a google search on Tony Moore and he is a director or something with the "It is Written" ministry. I would like to know as well what there tactic's are on this "Seminar" speakeasy |

Yes speakeasy, it seems the last time I went to the Southern Union Evangelism Conference (4 years ago??) that Tony Moore was there. They were promoting this wonderful archaelogical slant that can pull in more interests. I had heard no more about him until now. Leo Schreven was also there promoting using a "success seminar" approach over a weekend. After that, "interests" are invited to a study on Daniel and/or Revelation. Praise God...
