THIS is the day the Lord has made. let us rejoice and be GLAD in it! 2000 years ago, Yes, in the times of the apostles, the Christian church celebrated the resurected Lord on this day. They called it the Lord's Day and Christians have celebrated and worshiped their Lord since. I know, we have always been taught that the Roman Catholic church "changed" the sabboth. I believed it too until I read deeply into church history. Chritian gathered together to celebrate their Jesus on the day honoring His resurection. It was and is referred to as the Lord's Day for this reason. NOW re-read the book of Acts and even the first chapter of Revelation and see how many references you find that verify history. Funny we were never told before! Celebrate Jesus in His house, with His people! His gift is YOUR salvation! |

Wow Thomas, I'm not the only one! Lost track of how many times I've been telling someone about something we were going to do at the end of the week, and caught myself about to say, "on Sabba....." oops |

Me too! This morning during the sermon the pastor said "We come to church on Sunday morning toÖ" and I did a double take. I actually had to go through a thought process to remind myself that Sunday is the day I go to church now! On the way home I asked my son, "Did you have doughnuts in Sabbath School?" He corrected me before saying, "Yes, two!" By the way, did you ever experience a Sabbath School that regularly served doughnuts? I remember as a child that the idea of serving food or punch during Sabbath School or after church (except at a potluck, or course!) was considered sacriligious. As I was reminiscing about that with my son he said, he said, "The reason they were scandalized about food at Sabbath School was that they knew that if they served food, it would really be the only reason people would come. There was no other good reason!" Praise God for truth and grace and true worship and doughnuts in Sunday School! |

Our church has coffee and people drink it while the service goes on. At first this bothered me. Now I realize that we worship God in Spirit and in Truth. We worship God each day of the week. I love having freedom in Christ. I love not judging and letting God judge. I love knowing that Jesus is my Saviour and that He kept God's law and now I have risen from the dead to be alive in Christ. I love doing the work of God because I love Him. I love sharing the true Gospel with others and seeing the suffering and pain slowly melt away. I love not worring about which church they go to, just whether they are born again into Jesus. Such healing power. "For thine is the Kingdom, the glory and the power forever Amen" |
