It was the habit of the early Christians to greet each other in this manner: Greeting: "The Lord is risen" Response: "He is risen indeed." One experience that has truly blessed me in my worshipping in the mainstream churches, is the celebration of Easter. SDAism is so blindly terrified of anything that approaches what they call "Sunday worship" that they practically skip right over Easter. For those of you who have never experienced an Easter service in a large mainstream Christian church, I urge you to do so. Can you imagine the ecstatic praises that occurred in heaven at the resurrection of our Lord? Certainly much more than at His birth! If we can sing, "Let heaven and nature ring!" for His nativity, how much more should we rejoice over His resurrection! If you agree, then here is a website that will touch your heart. He Is Risen! The Lord is risen! Patti |

Yes, wasn't it sad to miss out on those Easter services all those years! Ah but Patti, it is not just worship in the large mainstream churches. Anywhere the honest followers of Christ gather to remember the day of his resurrection will do. Our congregation was less than 100 when we first began attending. But their resurrection day service is a real heart felt celebration of God's mercy in acting on our behalf! And isn't it a humbling thing to just stand back and watch the heartfelt praise being poured out and remember back that these were the folks we once harrumped about "not having the truth" because they didn't keep a particular day of worship?! |
