Keri, How are you doing? I pray for all of us here on the forum & want you to know you are not forgotton. God has been faithful to help out my son/house sale. I continue to ask for healing prayer for him, his wife & my little grandson. I had a BIG miracle tonight--my staunch SDA step-son has a very sweet wife. When they married, he was a backslidden SDA. He since has re-embraced it with a passion. His wife is Catholic in name only & I've tried to share spiritual things with her. She can definitely see the dangers of SDA--how it is extremely fear-based. My step-son doesn't spend alot of time with his kids & of course is absent from the home every Saturday. I have been praying for her, as for the rest of our families. Well, tonight she called me (late) & said her youngest sister is having a severe struggle with alcoholism, to the point of black-outs. The family has put their faith in rehab, but she keeps relapsing. My SIL is afraid her sister will die. She asked me tonight for help, saying "I know I really need God in my life to deal with this!" I told her that something with such a strong hold does need God's power to break it & bring healing. That we can't do it by our own will. She asked for Bible verses! She is open to God & I can't believe it! I have been gently talking to her for several years & she is finally asking for God in her life & in her sister's!! PLEASE pray for her, Elizabeth, that she will see the reality of the real God & accept Him. (She has been in new-agey, Deepok what's-his-name stuff, etc.) But she called late to ask for help & Bible verses! Her little sister's name is Lorie--I so praise God for His mercy to Elizabeth, enabling her to ask for Him in her life! Thank you for caring. Just please pray God will help Lorie with His great power. What's impossible for us IS possible with God! | ||

Praying for your DIL and her sister. Ask her to look up Celebrate Recovery on the internet. It is a Christ centered 12 step program, patterned after AA's 12 step program. It is fantastic and works very well. There may be on near enough for the sister to attend. Diana L | ||

I know this may not seem like a big deal compared with a lot of things going on... but I got my heart broken this afternoon.... My kitten was killed by a neighbors dog. Actually, it was very badly hurt and my husband went out and got it away from the dog,,, and she was hurt and suffering and my husband had to put her down. I was gone shopping for the day when it happened... he was dreading having to tell me.. Shadow was a beautiful kitty only 4 1/2 months old but I w3as so attached to her already.. I never had a kitten before who loved to cuddle like she did and she would purr constantly. Our 6 year old Grandson loves Shadow also and every time he comes over he goes out to get her and would hold her and talk to her .. I am not looking forward to telling him Shadow is gone.:-( I dont plan to tell him what happened,, but that she dissappeared and hopefully has a good home. Anyway,I dont know if Heaven has a place for pets or not... but if it does,, I am sure our little Shadow is there. In the meantime I cant seem to stop the tears every time I think of her. | ||

Praying for your comfort too - Cats are all so different and I understand about finding that one special personality. Praying you will find another one you love equally as well when you are ready. I know God cares about all our sadness and tears, no matter what the cause. Sondra | ||

Thank you for understanding and for your prayers. Shadow was not afraid of dogs... She had been around our dog since the day she was born, and they played well together. Now I wish she would have had a fear of dogs.. maybe she would have run away instead of expecting that dog to come and play. I am sad, but now mostly dreading tomorrow when our 6 year old Grandson Tyler will be here for the day.. I know the first thing he is going to do is go into the back yard and start looking and calling for shadow as he always has. He loved to hold her in his arms and talk to her. A few days ago when he was here and holding the kitten he told me that he loves Shadow and that he knew that he was Shadows favorite person.:-) He will be heartbroken when he learns she is gone. I dont know if I should tell him what really happened, or tell him she just dissappeared. Please pray for this little boy. Francie | ||

Skeeter, I am so sorry your your loss of your little kitten. I am praying for you and your grandson as he is going to miss Shadow. I would gently tell him the truth without the gory details as this is a sticky situation where trust comes into play. Cry with him at the loss of the kitten and suggest that you both send up a prayer to God thanking Him for giving you the joy you had with Shadow. Praying for you both, Gail | ||
