Just a small prayer request ... tomorrow evening is the last evening for a women's Bible study group called BSF. The last night they always have "sharing night" ... time for testimonies. There are probably over 100 women. There are a few women who attend BSF that are SDA and know who I am. One of the women that attends is the president's wife of a SDA university. So my request is that I will be obedient to the Holy Spirit's promptings and share in whatever manner He deems me to share ... Keri | ||

Thanks for the prayers. I did share in a general type of way - but an SDA sitting in would have felt uncomfortable (and there were some SDA's there). I talked about focusing on the law and now focusing on Jesus. SDA's would have picked up right away what I was referring to, because I mentioned the words chiseled in stone ... Because I have gained weight in the last 1 year my Blood Pressure has gone up. I do not move around as much as I did when I was working. I exercise on the treadmill 30 minutes a day, but I need to do more. I am watching what I eat and not as it goes into my mouth. Please pray with me that I have the energy to exercise more, that I lose weight so my BP can go down. Thanks all. I do not want to get adult onset diabetes. It is preventable. Diana | ||

My church family is currently renting space from the local school board. Over the last several weeks students from the school we worship have been having a pro-gay campaign with posters supporting homosexual marriage etc. Somebody in our chuch pulled some of the signs down and the school board is not pleased. Our pastor has asked the congregation to be respectful of the property even if we disagree with the message that goes counter to God's word. The altering of the signs happened again and now the school board has said that after today they are taking a moratorium on renting to us until they have a meeting to decide if we can rent from them. My prayer request is that whatever the end result is that we will have a place to worship (wherever it may be) and that the work in the community we do will not be hindered. | ||

An interesting point you might want to mention to whoever is doing this at your church, is that Paul preached in pagan temples daily - and I don't think he could have done that more than one time if he had purified the scenery by removing objectionable idols and such. This was actually pointed out to my husband and I when a few years ago we visited a Lutheran congregation that was meeting in an SDA church. We had visited that SDA church a couple times as SDAs and explained to the Lutheran pastor we couldn't continue being there even with the Lutheran group because the 3 angels stained glass painting with the 10 commandments and bowl of judgment really bothered us. The pastor said he hoped someday we could get beyond that, and that even Paul preached in pagan temples. (He also recommended the church we ended up in.) Enoch, I pray your church will resolve its conflicts with the school. It's a great place to meet I think - to be visible and accessible and not too "churchy" ha. I hope it can work out, even though it's not easy when you do not have ownership and control of the surroundings. I have a prayer request this morning for my 19 year old daughter. She has been running from God since she was about 14. She has seen ALOT of religious nonsense in our family. I think she got very disillusioned, and I don't blame her. But this morning she called, and has been dealing with some serious demonic manifestations both in the house she was staying in, and also with a friend of hers whose family has been into Wicca for 3 generations. It has escalated to the point that she is returning to what little truth she did glean from her childhood - that God is real, and more powerful than the enemy. I think her heart is very fertile at the moment and ask for prayers for her to make that real submission to God and change the direction and focus of her life. I trust God will do it - and appreciate your prayers!! Sondra | ||

Please bind the enemy from blinding her mind or from keeping her from accepting You. And please help her friend too. In Jesus name, amen." |
