Jeremy, A treasured pet is something that is hard to part with so I share in your grief and loss. My previous dog, Abe, was a Red Queensland Healer. I built a log doghouse for him. He was poisoned and loosing him was most devastating to me. Since then, we have a new pet, Hooch, who is so close to us he sleeps with us at night. Hooch is now about 15 years old, so I fear that another parting is not to far off. Your friend, Phil |

Dear Jeremy, I'm so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a pet. Dogs truly are faithful friends. They understand and sense things that people don't always pick up on. I'm so glad God blessed you with Polly. Sounds like she was a real sweetheart. You have been and will continue to be in my prayers. May the Holy Spirit comfort your heart. Joyfulheart |

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown... |

Larry, tears came to my eyes as I read Rainbow Bridge and thought of Fang. Fang was my son's cat. I had him for 7 years while my son finished college, went into the USAF, married. and had a kid. I sent Fang to him when I moved from VA to NV. I am going to send him and my DIL the writing about Rainbow Bridge. Diana L |

I,m really too soft hearted to raise pets, I even felt bad when I lost a fish fer cryin out loud. I was at a yard sale and a guy talked me into hauling an aquarium home, so I thought to myself, that should be easy, wrong, wrong wrong, the first thing you know I am buying ick meds, and all kinds of stuff trying to keep them alive, you never seed sich work as that was. I would check the fish first thing in the morning and there would be my favorite fish all turned over deader than a door nail fer cryin out loud. And the darn things knew me would you believe it? Them fish would crowd in the corner and watch me when I sat in my easy boy recliner and all I had to do was get up and they would go crazy darting around and then come back to the same place and watch as I came over to feed them. Any body else in the house moved around, even come up to the tank and they would pay no never mind, just go swimming along. My kids were amazed, I could wave my arm at them from across the room and they would react. I don't know how to account for it, but they were sure troublesome critters. Just gimme a dog any old time, dogs know how to help you take care of them. River |

I am asking for prayer to help me complete my transition process to a church where God wants me to be. Because , I don't know. It's already been too long. I stopped regular attendance about 5 years ago, maybe longer. And it has been 2 years already since I left them. With my marriage situation and current separation, the state of my being caught between faiths has proven to be a weapon and an accussation that I am wishy washy, undependable, unpredictable by virtue I have no establish belief system. (My Label is missing) Right now, I am simply Christian. Seek first, The Kingdom of God.... Then....... So you see, I believe, it is vital that I get past this limbo between faith systems. Churches. If I can integrate into a church, then the perhaps the rest of my life can find definition as well. I have a lot of things going on right now, lots of study , and effort. Mostly , I have this pervading sense that I want to move forward, NOW!, I am very weary of being in limbo, both in my church situation as well as in my personal life/marriage etc. I suspect that my renewed desire to move forward is part of the healing process. jim02 (Message edited by jim02 on August 12, 2008) |

Jim, I am praying that God will direct you to the church where He knows you will be spiritually fed and nurtured. You need to remember that what people tell you about yourself isn't necessarily the truth. God is the only One who can define you. You can be between churches without being "wishy washy". The only thing that matters is that you pursue Jesus. Let Him guide you to a place where He is present and His word is taught. Remember, Jesus is enough. We are not saved by or through a church. We are saved by Jesus and born of God by His Spirit. The Trinity brings us to life and sonship. Wherever Jesus alone is the center, you will find true fellowship. The secondary details can be points of disagreement: the gospel is nonnegotiable. Colleen |

At my Church, God makes sure I meet the former SDAs. Also when I go to the Celebrate Recovery Symposium He makes sure I meet the SDAs there. I was at the CR symposium at Saddle Back Church last Wed, Thur, Fri. God made sure I met an SDA man who has recovery over drugs with the CR program. His pastor was there also. I also found out from the Georgia state CR rep that SDAs from Collegedale, TN were there to find out about CR. I am asking all to pray for all these people-all SDAs. They need to know the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no doubt that He is awesome. Diana L |

A saint has gone to be with the Lord. The mother of one of my closest of friends died today. Her name was Martha and she was one hundred years old. She was active and in good health right up until today. She loved the Lord and it not only showed in her life but in all the generations that came after her. She lived next door to her son and daughter-in-law. Her grandson and his family, which included two boys and twin girls, lived two doors away. They lived, worked and loved the Lord in common. There are both tears of sadness and of joy in the local Belfair/Allyn church family. They modeled the true meaning of a Christian family who did everything together. Martha was a joy to be with and right now I feel an empty spot in my life. Phil |

Praying for your and the family's comfort, Phil. Isn't it amazing, though, when we can actually rejoice along with the tears at the death of a saint? I'll never forget what a surprise it was to me to know my dad was with the Lord when he died in 2001, and how in spite of the great void of loss, there was also hope and confidence. Truly, as Paul said, we do not grieve as others do. In Adventism there was never rejoicing and hope--only insecurity and the wish that the person might someday be resurrected. Colleen |

I ask your prayers for our neighbor and good friends who are coming to grips with the return of cancer in a wonderful wife, mother and friend. Karen is a survivor of and advocate for fellow breast cancer survivors. Just a month ago she sat with a friend as she died from cancer and now she faces the same. The cancer has returned in her liver and having received her first chemo last Monday, she returned to the clinic yesterday for the second. It was not possible because of poor counts. The tumor n her liver was 12cm (5inch) when they determined the cause of the current symptoms 3 weeks ago. Please pray for her health, that she will be able to receive the chemo treatment next Monday and for her husband and 13 year old daughter as they live with the realities and possibilities of this part of life. Thank you |

Jdpascal, Praying, and will continue to keep Karen in my prayers. Colleen, Thank you for asking. I also could use some prayer. I could not have my treatment last week because of low counts also. I must have bloodwork tomorrow morning and if my counts are up, I should have chemo on thursday. Blessings, Toria |
