I praise God for you Shontay. The Lord will always come through in His time. There is no doubts about it. His time is always the right time and it takes just one time to prove it! Thank you Father! Patrick |

I wonder if anyone gets the idea that Shontay is HAPPY??? Shontay, God is Great and worthy to be praised. He always works things out in awesome ways, often in ways far beyond our understanding or comprehension. We praise you God for your working in Shontay's life. In Christ, Richard rtruitt@mac.com.

Shontay, that is wonderful news. I was thinking it must be a Dodge because the Bible says Jesus rode a Colt. (Aren't Colt's Dodge?) Anyway, how about driving out to California and letting me put up yp for awhile and you can put up with me? We'll have a ball! Now for my prayer praise. I made it to California from Hawaii just fine last night. I had a very suvere upset stomach all night because the plane ride was like a roller coaster at the fair, just being whipped around most of the flight but the Lord sent a pilet that knew how to fly and the landing was so smooth. I'm still not home yet. I'm at my sons and I'm too embarrassed to ask him for train fare to get home so I told him I'd stay until my other son has a day off from work and he'll come pick me up. Besides, I hadn't seen my grandchildren since April and I honestly do want to hang with them for a few days. I'm happy with youy joy, Shontay. |

Many days ago I asked for God's protection as I embarked on a journey of the heart. This foolish old woman (me) could have purchased an airplane ticket and rented a car at my destination, and probably expended less money and effort, but I needed to drive the nearly 3000 miles just to prove to myself that I could, and God has ridden with me every mile and brought me safely back home. The reunion at my old academy was great, too. You see, over half of the graduates are now "formers" and we managed to keep the "still currents" from being too much like the posters at Revival Sermons. The many miles driven through the desert gave me exquisite opportunities to see how small and helpless I am without God, but he kept me safe through heat and storm, road construction and road weariness. What a wonderful Jesus we serve! |

Yes, Susan, it was a boarding academy, and I truly loved so many of the people I knew there. That is not to say that my stay there was idilic, but I still cherish the relationships formed there for eternity! Belva |

My husband had his prayer answered (though it has taken many years), that I'm not Adventist anymore he told me and that we could teach our children about being saved. |

Well, this isn't really an answer to prayer, but neither is it a prayer request. It's more just a general reflection...and a little bit of melancholy at the same time. Tomorrow is my daughter's 16th birthday. In most girls' lives, this is the beginning age for dating and driving and a new era of freedom and further breaking away from the parents. Of course, with Rachel, it won't be any of that. She is just now learning to peddle a stationery bike, she can neither read nor write let alone consider a driving test. As a mom, it's a milestone in your child's life. As this mom, it's another reminder of all she can't do. Of course, sometimes that's a relief. I don't worry about drugs or alcohol or STDs or pregnancy. The decisions she makes now aren't going to follow her the rest of her life. I sure never thought this would be our life 16 years ago today! I am still learning to be content...and some days are better than others. I still pray every day that God will heal her. But I always suspect it's a wasted prayer.... I sure miss what my mind says should'a been.... |

Dear Melissa, I am so sorry for the loss and the sadness and the deflated dreams you are experiencing...and will with each new era Rachel's years say she's entering. Sometimes I have to pray that Jesus will be more real to me than whatever fear or grief I'm facing. Part of the insightful, incisive, courageous person you are is the result of God's ongoing redemption of this great grief. Jesus is faithful; He will be more real to you than the suffering. Dear Father, I pray tonight for Rachel, that whether or not she's aware it's her 16th birthday tomorrow, You will bless her in ways that transcend mere cognitive awareness. Please calm her heart and give her a deep peace and calmness that is Your Spirit ministering to her spirit. You don't need her mind to be aware of You in order to bless her. Please comfort her and give her joy in a that deep place that does not need words or clear thoughts. Help her to experience You in exactly the ways You know she can experience You. And please bless Melissa in a special way on this poignant anniversary. Please be more real to her than her pain and disappointment and her ongoing grief. Thank you for what You are doing in her and for the ways You are redeeming her past and making of her a woman of grace and authority. Thank you for her two sons, and please give her Your wisdom and delight in them. I pray that You will guard her heart and hold her in Your love and strength. Please give her joy and confidence that You are doing something eternally redemptive both in her life and in Rachel's. Please put a song in her heart and help her to experience Your presence and Your reassurance that You are already in the future, and none of this will be wasted. Thank you for Melissa, and thank you for Rachel. Thank you for blessing them both on this day. Thank you for the eternal glory that You have ordained by knowing and predestining each of them before they ever came to be. We praise You for Your unfailing love. Thank You for Your faithfulness to them, and thank You also for ministering to us through Melissa. In Jesus' name, Amen |

Even though there are challenges ahead that I just asked for prayer for, I also want to share my joy in something that happened today. I've been washing clothes by hand for several months, then recently someone did some of the laundry and told me that she knew of a washer that we could borrow. Well today was delivery day. When the truck drove up we all went to the window, and I had the door open before the delivery guy could knock. . . He asked, 'Where do you want them?' THEM?? He had both a washer and a DRYER!! I'm amazed at how God provides!! But then, He IS God - is anything too hard for the Lord? And He's already provided a place to stay, food to eat, clothes to wear . . . . We serve an Awesome God!! Blessings, Mary |
