Diana, I'm praying now for God to give you wisdom and words, that you will be filled with His perception and insight and will say exactly what Kim needs to hear in order to understand the truth. Praise God for glorifying Himself through us! Colleen |

Diana, Remember, your "best Shot is point her to Jesus and the Cross. Explain what HE did for HER, not just for the world, but for HER. Then let the Spirit do His work. You can't "explain" the Gospel, you can only present it. Either it is excepted by faith, or it will be rejected. In any event, it can only be explained and excepted by FAITH! Jesus. Always THE answer! <>< Thomas |

Diana You and your niece are in my prayers. Somehow, I feel that maybe the battle is already won in Christ's name...because she asked. Jesus said that if we seek Him we WILL find Him. What an incredible promise because it means that no one needs to be hit by an evangelism seminar, or come to the right church door. It means that if our hearts are crying out for God, Jesus will find us. And He can use the words from another who loves Him, or He can bring us in Himself. Trust Him as you present to her your faith. Praise Jesus! Esther |

Please pray for me. I want so much to send a letter to my former SDA church requesting that my name and the name of my child be removed from their church records. I no long want my name affiliated or associated with the SDA church (and I will state the reasons in the letter which include the blatant hyprocrasy and racism within the church, the blatant contradictions between EGW and the biblical principles, her false prophecies, especially regarding the investigative judgement, etc). The problem, of course, is this: My dad is the 1st Elder of this church, and my mom is very active in the church also, and is the head of many associations within that church (They are still staunch SDA who believes that anyone who leaves the SDA church has fallen away in darkness). Even though I think the right thing to do is to have myself removed from the church records, I still love my parents very, very, very much and the last thing in the world I want to do is hurt them. Does anyone think that I should go ahead and write this letter, or just keep everything as is , not write the letter, but just continue my non-association with SDA's. If I do write the letter, I dread the impending "visit" from the pastor of the church, and of course, my dad. Help. I need advise and prayer. --Valerie C. |

Valerie, It's just my opinion, but I wouldn't point out the negatives. I would just explain that I have grown to know Jesus more and I no longer agree with the teachings of the SDA church. In more words than that, of course. Attacking their belifs only makes them think you are surely wrong. If you can make them believe that you have found something they know they don't have, it sows a seed, or at least puts a question in their hearts. Make it very loving, you don't want to offend your parents. But be strong...here is what God gave me when I decided to leave: Hebrews 10:32&35: But recall the former days in which after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and enduring possesion for yourselves in heaven. Therefore, do not cast away your confidence which has great reward. Keep that confidence in Christ! Praying for you! Sabra |

If you feel lead to write the letter, as Sabra said, keep it minimal...unless God is leading you otherwise. And you could share it with your parents before you send it to the church so they are not blindsided (though I recognize that may be as uncomfortable as any of it). I will most definitely pray that God guide you. But you alone will know the true answer for you. Listen to his voice. It's calm, soft and steady, but trust it. |

Valerie C, You are in a seemingly tough position. But God can over come that, so pray about it, as I am sure you are doing. I will add you to my prayer list God will give you the words to say in the letter as well as to your parents. With many prayers for you, Diana |

Valerie, my first question is whether or not your parents know your beliefs. Even though it might be hard, I would definitely suggest talking to them before they hear about it in a public setting. (Put yourself in their place and ask yourself how you would want to be treated.) As far as dropping your membership officially, I am of the conviction that you will know of a certainty from the HOly Spirit as to when it needs to be done. AT that point, you will have a great peace about moving forward, regardless of anyone else's opinion. Until you have that inward peace from the HOly Spirit, wait. Lastly, don't be concerned about visits from the pastor or anyone else questioning you. Adventists just don't seem to be too concerned about your reasons. If they do ask, most likely a very brief explanation will suffice, unless you sense someone is truly seeking to know for the gospel themselves. Praise God.... |

I do prn work at the hospital and get paid by the hour. I was not paid the correct amount on 10 occassions and I brought it to the attention of the HR person I was told could take care of it. She has had the information for 3 weeks and on my paycheck today it was not corrected. Please pray that it gets corrected as soon as possible. I know God is taking care of me and will provide my needs and I know that Satan will do everything he can to screw it up, which he has tried to do. I would just like it corrected because I need that money. I know I cannot do anything over the weekend. I called the HR person at the hospital as soon as I saw it had not been corrected today. She is not in today. I start a new job Monday and will be in orientation all day. I will try to call her during a break or after work. I left a message asking her to call me after 4:30 PM because that is when I get off work. Just need prayers that this gets corrected. Thanks and I do know God is awesome. Diana |

It's me again! My four year old reinjured his arm. Looks like he may have re-broken it. We're taking him to the Orthopedist Wednesday. Please pray for his quick recovery and that it can heal 'straight'. I hurt for him! Mary |

Richard and our younger son, Nathanael, were in an accident on the way to work this morning. Nathanael was driving (he's 17 and will be taking his driving test within a month or so--he was driving with a permit). The traffic stopped on the freeway suddenly, and the person behind Nathanael did not see him stop and rear-ended them, pushing them into the car in front of them. No one was hurt, thankfully, but there's damage to the car. What I'd like prayer for is Nathanael. He's really a quiet kid, but he's very tightly wound inside with really sensitive emotions and great perception. (Yes, he's a lot like his dad!) He has a perfectionistic streak which sometimes paralyzes him if he feels overwhelmed. Even though this wreck wasn't his fault, he's pretty shaken over it. He was already feeling some fear (along with eagerness) about getting his license, and this will be one more barrier he'll be dealing with in his head as he thinks about driving. I'd like prayer that God will calm his heart and that he'll be able to experience God's reassurance and courage and comfort at a deep level so he can really know that he can trust God to be his protection and wisdom, and he doesn't need to fear the unknown. Nathanael does know Jesus, but he tends to "stuff" his feelings instead of expressing them, and I'd just appreciate your prayers for him right now. Thanks so much. Colleen |

Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be stong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Colleen and Richard - I'm praying for God to impart wisdom to you both as you guide Nathanael with your words and actions. |
