Are Christ and Satan truly Adversaries? Is there even a battle still being fought? Why do false religions elevate the power of Satan? A Fair Fight Between Christ and Satan? I just couldn't help myself. Ross |

Q:Are Christ and Satan truly Adversaries? A:In the sense that Satan is adversarial to Christ, yes. Q:Is there even a battle still being fought? A:Yes, but the battle is being fought is in our hearts, not Gods heart. Q: Why is it that so many false religions inflate the power of Satan to such ridiculous proportions? A: Because Satan is the God of false religions. Thank you for sharing Ross, you never fail to make the think. River |

That's the goal. I'm also glad that you answered the questions the way you did because it shows that there are multiple answers to the questions. As I knew there were of course- that's what happens when one focuses on one aspect of the questions. |

2-day, welcome to the forum. Our being tempted is not the occasion of a battle between Christ and Satan. Those who are not born again are still dead in their sins, unable to respond to the Lord Jesus apart from His direct intervention bringing them to the place of being able to have saving faith (Eph. 2:1-9; John 6:37, 44, 65). People who are still dead in sin are condemned already (Jn. 3:18) because they have not believed in the Son of God. Those who ARE born again have already passed from death to life and will not come into judgment but HAVE eternal life (Jn. 4:25). When we are born again we still have mortal flesh which still has a "law of sin" in it (Rom 7:22-23). We now have to learn to submit to the Spirit, something we are now able to do because the Holy Spirit has indwelt us and has brought us to life (Rom. 8:10)-11). But our salvation is secure. Jesus disarmed and humiliated Satan by His blood of the cross (Col 2:14-15), and he is a defeated foe. There is no outcome yet to be determined. The outcome is ALREADY done; the atonement is completely finished. There's no battle between Christ and Satan being fought when we are tempted. We are to resist the devil, and he will flee from us—if we are born again. If we are not, we are already his prisoner. There is no middle ground. Colleen |

In the sense that we are called into spiritual warfare against spiritual wickedness in high places, then yes. Demons and doctrines of devils are real, I have seen real demonic possession and events of overt supernatural evil. We have to claim the name of Christ Jesus of Nazareth over the demonic or demonic activity, and I include: The shed blood, power and authority in my COMMAND in His Name for good measure. Peace in Christ Jesus of Nazareth |
