Wow, if Ellen White knew what she was talking about she would never had forbidden spices! Check out these articles.... http://www.livestrong.com/article/251581-what-are-the-benefits-of-spices/ http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/recipes/healthy-eating/nutrition/health-benefits-of-spices-herbs/ http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/spices-and-herbs-health-benefits http://health.yahoo.net/articles/nutrition/surprising-healing-benefits-spices http://bastyrcenter.org/content/view/546/ http://www.montefin.com/diet/health/spices/curry-turmeric-curcumin-alzheimers.html (Message edited by Asurprise on March 26, 2012) |

But Asurprise, what good is beating cancer and alzheimers, if those spices "excite the lower passions"? |

Truman; you have a point! If an Adventist isn't "overcoming" he/she will be lost according to Ellen White, so then it would be better to die from cancer than eat curry, I guess! |

Coffee and tea too, are beneficial; but SDAs have to keep their blinders on and not look at the evidence or it will destroy their confidence in Ellen White... http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/coffee-new-health-food http://teabenefits.com/ |

I like popcorn and root-beer. Good stuff. Has anyone here tried birch beer? It's a drink made in Heaven! I swear! |

Most things, like beer and wine, are actually good if used moderately. The exceptions I can think of are crack and cigarettes...mainly because they are so addictive. According to visionaries like Steve Jobs, LSD helped him with creativity and focus. Um...not that I speak from personal experience with that. |
