When you spend a lifetime in the sciences you learn to look for patterns and anomalies. I was reading Ross’s blog site back: Why Seventh-Day Adventism is a New Religious Movement (Cult) | Differences Between Adventism and Christianity http://undercoveradventist.wordpress.com/why-seventh-day-adventism-is-a-new-religious-movement-cult/ At the end of the article an Adventist answers the blog and says this: Why bash the Sda church if it so evil move on really go on to a different understanding of the gospel and quit living in the past and free yourself from the hate and resentment that is eating you up inside. Ross come back and patiently explained his position on the matter of our being called to defend the Gospel. If Ross were explaining the difference between Mormonism and Christianity I am positive the Adventist would have said nothing about the blog. If Adventist have nothing to hide, then why object, just move on. If Adventism is biblical, then just move on. This is a pattern I have picked up over the years that is always present when we talk about the unbiblical nature of Adventism. They would like for us just to move on. Why is it so important to them that we just move on? The reason is that they are so afraid of exposure. Exposure makes them fighting mad. So angry they are beside themselves. Spirits of deceit do not like to be uncovered and these spirits manifest themselves when they detect exposure. Are these spirits of deceit living in the body of that person, I don’t know, but I suspect they are and the person needs deliverance form those spirits. No amount of argument or justification for what you are doing in exposing them will succeed in changing them. In Matthew 8:28 we see, And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? These spirits had been exposed, the spirits cried out through the mens voice. That is exactly what happened as the man read Ross’s blog. The man might have just as well said, “Why expose us Ross, has the spirit of God in you come to torment us before the time?” Spiritual discernment is knowing who is doing the talking or acting. Jesus knew who was doing the talking as these spirits manifested themselves in the men. Romans 8:9 tells us: But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Spiritual discernment is not learned by rote, yet after some time you begin to recognize pattern’s that will alert you to who is doing the talking, the man or the spirit within the man. “Why expose us? Just move on.” I’ve seen it so many times, the mans answer to Ross is almost word for word the answer I have seen so many times, and even without the pattern that has become so familiar, I know who is doing the talking and it’s no man. The thing is just using the mans voice and fingers to type Ross a message, “Just leave us alone.” It is a waste of time to argue with these spirits, they know who they are and where they are headed. Hell is real to them whether it is real to you or not. Are you come to torment us before the time? We are a torment to Adventist, yet a sweet savor of brotherhood to each other even when we don’t agree on all the details of this life. This is what Paul meant when he said, Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. You got that right Paul. River |

Hi River, The very same thing happens on a show I've mentioned before, called "Heart of the Matter". It is done by a former Mormon. He gets lots of calls from Mormons asking the same thing, "why don't you just move on". Or "why don't you just preach your beliefs and quit bashing Mormons?" Then Sean (the host) explains his reasons, and the response is, "well, I just don't understand why you don't move on and not bash Mormons". Blind and deaf!!! They seem incapable of even understanding the words he speaks. I totally agree with your statement, that if Ross were pointing out errors with Mormons or Catholics, that would be just great. But any critiquing of Adventism is an "attack". Carol |

~River~ Thank-you so much for writing about the "spirit" of adventists~ This is why it is so important for "former" adventists, or anyone else that is trying to talk to adventists about their "peculiar" beliefs~ We are not dealing with "flesh" but with "spirits"~ My daughter, many years ago, after leaving adventism, tried to talk to one of her adventist Aunts. My daughter was totally unprepared for her response. The Aunt seemed to become another person right before her eyes~ She rose up on the balls of her feet and seemed taller, her face became distorted and red, and her voice had a "gravelly" sound to it~ My daughter was actually frightened, of someone that a few moments ago had been loving~ Things cooled off shortly when the subject was dropped! The lesson for any of us is Prayer, first and foremost~ Only Christ can break the chains that bind. The fight is not ours to win~but Christs. He is Faithful and He will do it~ Matthew 7:6 says~" Do not give that which is holy(the sacred things) to the dogs, and do not throw your pearls before hogs, lest they trample upon them with their feet and turn and tear you to pieces." There is another scripture that tells us to deliver our message of the "Good News" and if the people donot accept it, "dust off our shoes" and go to the next town. Pray and ask God who he wants you to give the Gospel~ but do not become entangled in useless arguments~ ~mj~ (Message edited by mjcmcook on February 27, 2012) |

MJ : "Pray and ask God who he wants you to give the Gospel~ but do not become entangled in useless arguments" Thank you MJ I believe God "wants" everyone to hear the true Gospel, BUT, I think sometimes we can be so emotionally close to someone who needs to hear it, that they cannot hear it from US. I have found that to be true in the case of my MIL and I. I love her dearly but once she realized I was finding out really serious "stuff" about the SDA denomination, she would not listen anymore. My last attempt was to send her a book that I thought MAYBE she would read because it was not written by a "former SDA". Andrew Farleys "The Naked Gospel". I got a call the day after she received it telling me not to "waste my money" because she KNEW what the Bible said and she would NEVER change her mind about the Sabbath. I am not giving up on her, but I now understand that it is not MY job to reach her. I now feel my responsibility is to continue to love her, pray for her, and to pray that the Holy Spirit speaks to her heart to convict her and give her the DESIRE to know truth. I also pray that if there is some person out there that can speak to her with the right words, someone she will listen to, that they will be sent to her. I just realize that it is not me. I may be able to share with others, and I pray that I can. But it seems it is NOT meant for ME to be the one to help remove the veil of my MIL. |
