...because there's an infinite difference between being saved and being lost. If a Muslim were to become a Seventh-day Adventist, he might accept the fact that Jesus actually did die on the cross, but he still wouldn't believe that Jesus finished the Atonement and he still wouldn't believe that he could accept Jesus' finished work in his behalf and be saved. In fact religion is man's effort to reach God. Christianity is a relationship with God, where God does ALL the work. All a person needs to do is accept Jesus' free gift. People might object: "but what about the book of James?!" The book of James addresses those who just say the words or pray a prayer just for the fire insurance. There are people sitting in the pews of real Christian churches who haven't really accepted Jesus because they don't want God to really take away their sins or perhaps because of ignorance, etc. "I go to church, so I'm a Christian" they say, when you ask if they are a Christian. All the religions of the world are alike in that the people in them are like people who are drowning in the sea who are told to kick and try to swim. They are going to drown because there are no boats close enough and the cold water is sapping their strength, but they're told to kick and kick and kick. One by one they disappear beneath the waves. Then suddenly one of them cries out: "save me, I'm drowning!" A hand comes down from no-where and pulls that person out of the water. That's what happens when a religionist turns away from his own efforts to save himself and turns to God. The SDA religion is perhaps the most deceptive, in that they claim that they're saved completely by Jesus. They tell themselves that, while at the same time, working to save themselves. They ignore plain verses in the Bible such as Ephesians 2:8-9; "For by grace you HAVE BEEN SAVED through faith..." and Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us..." and 1st John 2:12 "your sins are forgiven for His name’s sake." They ignore those plain verses, because Ellen White contradicted them by saying that no one can say they are saved. ONLY CHRISTIANITY teaches that ALL a person's sins; past, present and future are forgiven! None of the world's religions teach that! |

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church has targeted Muslim people for evangelism. Perhaps the shared similarities are seen as an 'entering wedge'? |

~I did some reading on the meaning of Allah~ I offer what I read 'in a nutshell'~ "Allah is not simply the Arabic word for God, but the name of Islam's chosen deity the (pre-Islamic moon god, in Ka'aba). Akbar does not mean great, but greater- Greater than what? the answer is.... Allah is greater than whatever you happen to believe in." (wiki-pedia.) This is Everyone who is not Islamic-Muslim. I would like to read more information if anyone here on the Forum has researched in more depth. ~mj~ |
