Good Morning, everyone! I am looking for a resource. I learned early last year that Ellen G. White was given a green cord in one of her visions. I thought it was by her angel messenger but one of the SDA websites says it was Jesus who gave it to her. Anyway, I am looking for the place where she explains that the purpose of the cord was to extend it to heaven from her chest so that she could communicate with God or her angel or whoever it was. I know these cords were also used in the occult and I am trying to help a friend get her hands on this resource. Can anyone help me out? Thanks! | ||

While I was lying helpless there, scenes of beauty and glory passed before me, and I seemed to have reached the safety and peace of heaven. At length my strength returned, and I arose. The loving eyes of Jesus were still upon me, and His smile filled my soul with gladness. His presence awoke in me a holy reverence and an inexpressible love. {CET 27.1} My guide now opened the door, and we both passed out. He bade me take up again all the things I had left without. This done, he handed me a green cord coiled up closely. This he directed me to place next my heart, and when I wished to see Jesus, take it from my bosom, and stretch it to the utmost. He cautioned me not to let it remain coiled for any length of time, lest it should become knotted and difficult to straighten. ~Jeremy~ I read the information on the links you provided from your research~thank-you for sharing~you have really saved us a lot of time! I have believed for many years 'egw' was defiantly 'channeled' by demonic forces, from my own study of her voluminous "ravings"! I fervently pray that the Holy Spirit will touch the hearts of the adventists who are still in this dark religion(cult) so they may know the TRUTH and be set-free! ~*~mj~*~ | ||

wow! wow! and wow, again! That explains all the demonic activity thru out my life as an SDA. I had the apparitions, the voices, the odd and freaky things. Shortly, after I renounced SDAism i wondered if there was a demonic influence attached to that denomination. Wow a lot of references and alluding to occult practices and symbology! Imagine what would occur if I were to walk up to a student on Campus Drive in Loma Linda and tell them I wanted to share with them some vison or truth I received from heavenly guide. Do you think that they would give me the time of day? But that is exactly what they do every Adventist Sabbath, they open their hearts and minds to the work of that Crafty Serpent. BTW I found this additional link with a document called "Ellen G. White Uses Masonic Words" it doesn't say who wrote it or where it came from so take it with a grain of salt. Jeremey, I'm curious whether perhaps the comments the author made regarding the Green Chord, which is part of the section entitled, Ellen G White's Dream of Seeing Jesus resonate with your research as well. It is creepy, but as an Adventist, I would have thought to myself, "The devil has a counterfeit for everything..." Until an Adventist can realize that EGW is not a messenger from God, they can justify ANYTHING. It's all a matter of perspective. Their worldview begins with "Ellen White speaks truth." Our son Nathanael summed it up one day when he was nine years old during the time we were studying our way out. Colleen... you're right. I have never said she wasn't a prophet to anyone. I guess I never really gave it much conscious thought as to why I didn't. Now I know why I never said that she is not a prophet. Since coming into the Truth over SDAism I have always told people that EGW is a "false prophet". I don't make any bones about it anymore. I'm just one of those people that call a spade a spade I guess. However, as time goes on I discover more and more proof of her being in contact with demons. I don't believe that all her stuff came from demons directly...cuz she did do a lot of plagarizing and she was influenced heavily by James and others in SDA leadership. But there is no doubt in my mind at all that she did receive some of her visions from demons and that she did converse with demons as well. (you know those times when she says she was given whatever by the Lord) I truly believe that the SDA denomination has demonic spirits attached to it. It is definitely heavily influenced by demons. Otherwise, why is it that SDAs are soooo blind to see the glaring indicrepencies of SDA teaching with the bible? Why are they so bent in condemning christians that are not one of them? Why do their teachings produce such fear and confusion with people? Why is it so difficult for people to get free of SDAism once they leave the church? The Lord allowed me to see that spirit behind Adventism one morning Lynn, and believe me when I tell you, ya don't want to see it. I had to beg him to take that thing away. What an ugly piece of work that spirit is. It is hate beyond anything imaginable and it hates being exposed or to be seen. I don't really care if anyone disbelieves what I saw, it made a believer out of me. I don't have 'visions' it was simply spiritual discernment and I don't have that much either. I don't go messing around with spiritism either, the only Spirit I depend on is the Holy Spirit and I know him. So you better believe that church is under control of a demonic entity. River | ||

River, I haven't ever seen that spirit behind SDAism like you have....however, I have physically felt it. There was one saturday in the sanctuary I felt it pressing down on my chest and I was actually struggling to take a breath. I finally had to get out of the sanctuary. As soon as I walked thru the door out of the sanctuary, it left and I was able to breath again. Like I said earlier I have no doubt that that church is infested with demonic influence. River, you confirmed it with what you saw. I never experienced manifestations like that until I started becoming a threat to them. This all started happening with me during the time I was teaching a class on the Holy Spirit. lynn | ||

Free2--Don't have time to read all the posts right now, but I have the actual children's book called "The Green Cord"...it's very dark. The angel gave her the cord so she could talk to Jesus. I'll get you the book if you want to see it. I'm sure someone already posted the EW passage where she relates this dream/vision. |
