Hi friends, Below you'll find the Summer/Fall Lineup for after7.tv webinars. You can sign up for all of the webinars that you want to attend using one form, but whatever you do, be sure you sign up so you can get the login information for the virtual meeting room and reminders. We’re happy to announce a new feature, Social Saturdays, where a Former Adventist will share his/her testimony and also share about a topic that they are passionate about regarding transitioning out. Social Saturdays are an opportunity to chat live and connect with other Formers in a more relaxed informal setting. It’s bound to be fun! All webinars are FREE. Wednesday Webinars ***Faith on Facebook: Sharing the Gospel without alienating your friends (Rerun) presented by Jonathan Bilima, pastor of Relevant Church. Wednesday, August 10, 7 p.m. (CST) ***So you want to find a church? If you haven’t gotten plugged in to the Body of Christ after7, you’ll find this webinar to be useful and encouraging. Know what to look for in a church, how to get over the idea of a perfect church and important questions to ask your new pastor. This webinar is presented by Jonathan Bilima, pastor of Relevant Church. Wednesday, August 10, 8 p.m. (CST) ***The Trinity: What it is, what it isn’t and why it matters presented by Doug Blount, Professor, Theological Studies, Dallas Theological Seminary. Wednesday, August 31, 8pm (CST) ***The Great Controversy: How it shaped your worldview presented by Colleen Tinker, Editor, Proclamation magazine. Colleen will discuss her cover story on the Great Controversy in the latest Proclamation magazine. Wednesday, September 28, 8 p.m. (CST). ***Understanding the Covenants. Want an overview of the Covenants in the Bible and why they’re important? Want to better understand the New Covenant? Chris Lee will teach this webinar. He writes a column for Proclamation and has written an extensive Bible study on the Covenants. Wednesday, October 26, 8 p.m. (CST) Social Saturdays ***Joe & Jennifer Rector share their testimony. Joe left his teaching job at an SDA academy when he left Adventism. Now he and his wife, Jennifer run Sabbatismos ministries and are committed to educating questioning SDAs and evangelical Christians who wish to better understand the true teachings of Seventh-day Adventism. Saturday, August 13th, 11 a.m. (CST) ***Ever feel like your sharing the Gospel with friends and family is a waste of time? Patria Rector shares how she and her husband, Jerry, successfully shared the Gospel with their family members (Joe & Jennifer Rector). There is hope. Your seed-planting is not in vain. Come here for an encouraging testimony. Saturday, September 10th, 11 a.m. (CST) ***Rita Kollist shares her testimony of how reading the Bible, by literally dividing the Word (cutting up the Bible with scissors!) changed her life. It’s an effective approach to successfully reading the Bible again and and again. Saturday, October 8th, 11 a.m. (CST) ***While some Formers embrace the New Covenant of Grace, some are convinced that Torah-observance is the right path and begin observing all the Jewish Sabbaths and Feasts. Meet Jeff Brickell and explore the issues and pitfalls. He’s been there, done that and now wears the Grace-shirt. Saturday, November 5th at 11 a.m. (CST) Sign up here: http://after7.tv/2011/summerfall-webinar-lineup/ |

Good question, Phil. A webinar is a seminar that you attend on the web. You can see the PowerPoint presentation on your screen, interact with other attendees via chat, watch the presenter via his/her webcam and listen through your speakers. The best part is, you get to attend a seminar in your pajamas! |

Thanks Cloudwatcher, Having only a vague idea what PowerPoint is could you explain that? I have been to real life seminars such as Basic Youth Conflicts but have no idea how to participate in an online version. But then, I’m a guy who has spent most of his life cutting, bending and welding steel such as required for building or repairing submarines. In fact, the guy who introduced me to the real gospel message was a weldor (yes, I spelled that right) while we were inside a submarine missile tube. Fearless Phil |

Colleen, thanks for your support and your participation. Phil, if you can post on the forum, you can join the webinar. A powerpoint presentation is a modern way of saying slide show. You don't even have to know that in order to attend. Just click on the link above and register. It's all pretty easy, I promise. Like I said, if you've mastered the forum, then you've got enough skills for attending the webinar. |

Phil, my mom was a certified welder a long long time ago she is now 99 years old but welded in the shipyards in Alameda California and before that at a Norge refrigerator factory somewhere in Michigan. My dad was a welder during that time too but he always said my mom could weld a much prettier bead. (bead ? ) Francie |

Thank y'all for participating. I am going to do my best to remember to tape the Wednesday Webinars (once the webinar starts, you can't record...I have to remember to start recording before!!!). Because of the more social/personal nature of the Social Saturdays, I don't think it would be appropriate to tape them and post them (maybe only the first portion? I don't know. I'll have to check to see how the presenters feel about it.) Anyway, I am looking forward to them too! |

because it's night here when it's day over there - the option of viewing anytime would be great! |
