Has Marikay left over SDA doctrine or is it for other reasons? |

I don't know for sure; I do know that several years ago I heard from her, and while she was no longer SDA, I'm quite sure she is not Christian, either. Colleen |

Thegoldenway, I know what you are describing. Last year as I learned the true gospel, the truth about the end-times, and the truth about hell, I spent a LOT of time in prayer and sadness for my loved ones who have not accepted the Way the Truth and Life of Christ. I became very eager to share with ANYONE who wanted to listen. I even got myself into a bit of trouble. It is a brand new thing to go from being ashamed of the secrets of what you believe to being excited about the gospel of your very real salvation! |

Okay well I'll start taking notes on what I have through that link I found. And then add to them when I read your copy. And to imagine when I was developing my BibleRunner story as an Adventist...it was filled with this falsehood. It's like looking at two different stories. |

Mary Kay Silver Mcleod(sp?) worked for an SDA publishing house, then sued them (and, I think the GC, too) over unfair wages for women; they were breaking the law. Her book was about this and her eventual exit from Adventism, but I don't recall the title. (Haven't seen it for 30 years) Cathy2 cathoosier@gmail.com |

Here's a short excerpt from the article I'm currently writing about Now! (Short is a code word for I tried to make it short): NOW! A critical overview. -A National Sunday Law. As an Adventist I was taught that the government would pass a law that would make worship on Sunday manditory and worship on Saturday “the Sabbath” illegal. Since I was born again in 1987 I found that the Holy Spirit was leading me in understanding the illegitimacy of such a claim. As believers we are called to enter our Sabbath Rest, this true Sabbath Rest isn't in a day like it was for the Israelites (although we are as believers called to worship together as brethren of Christ), but it is entering into the Rest of God that God entered into on the 7th Day. As far as God is concerned the rest has been there to enter since he inaurgrated the rest after the SIX Days of creation. In Hebrews 3 we are called to stop with the disbelief and enter into God's Rest, His rest becomes our rest also, but only if we forsake our unbelief and enter into that Rest. We enter that rest through being Born Again. The Holy Spirit enters the new believer, fills and seals the new believer (this Seal is the Seal of God and NOT the Sabbath), the Holy Spirit gives is a new heart and bring our Spirit to eternal life and we enter a right relationship with God. His spirit communes with our Spirit proving that we are children of God, and we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Without a correct understanding of the Spirit one cannot be Born Again, Adventist friends if you continue to deny an eternal Spirit that we are all born with (aligned with Satan at Birth born dead in our sins) then there is no way to be Born of the Spirit/Born Again/Born from Heaven. By taking the Spirit away from us you are removing God's Image (God is after all Spirit) from us, you are making humans no better than animals, and since according to Adventists Jesus is the same as us...if we have no Spirit neither does He...so you are making God the Son into an animal to. Such a thought simply sickens me. As a New Believer I am a NEW CREATION living in a dead and dying one, who's looking forward to living in Heaven. I am called to worship the Lord my Savior all of the time, I was purchased with the Blood of Christ the highest price and I am no longer my own. Therefore I must be devoted to God, and do as he asks me to do as I'm lead by God the Holy Spirit who lives in my body which is a temple for Him. I find it interesting that Christians and Jewish converts who became Christians in the first century worshiped on Sunday to remember both the day of Christ's Resurrection but also to celebrate the day on which the Church was formed on Pentecost. We are not worshiping the Sun on Sunday anymore than Adventists are worship the planet Saturn on Saturday. However since we entered that rest we choose to celebrate the Creator of the Sabbath Day and the caster of the shadow of the Sabbath Day. The Born Again believer, the Christian, worships God every day as oft as they remember. They come together specifically on the first day of the week because they want to start the week in Christ, they want to give up the week to Him in thanksgiving. Often as an Adventist I'd feel as if the Sabbath was a day of recovery from getting slammed around all week, I wasn't resting I was in recovery, getting patched up in Spiritual hospital. Only to spring another leak. All this to say that a national Sunday Law isn't needed, those in Christ know what day to worship on...every day! They know what day to worship on as a group of believers, Sunday! We do this to remind ourselves that Jesus work is complete, He did have a Spirit, and through Spiritual Birth we can enter God's true rest. And really what better rest is there? Just so you know...you know! Ross |

"Often as an Adventist I'd feel as if the Sabbath was a day of recovery from getting slammed around all week, I wasn't resting I was in recovery, getting patched up in Spiritual hospital. Only to spring another leak." Ross, I completely get what you're saying here. I often felt really tired on Saturday (the 'preparation day' before didn't help). I was told that feeling tired on Sabbath morning was Satan trying to prevent me from going to church. Now I understand it was just plain tiredness from stopping after a strenuous week. Nothing otherworldly about that. I love the idea of going to church on Sunday to start the week in Christ. Thanx for sharing. |

I have now read for the most part the booklet and have 5 pages of notes from it. I'm debating making both a written post and a Vlog (video blog) or simply getting a written one out the door. There's just so much to note in this pamphlet not the least of which is how Merikay is calling out for help by exposing how unsure she was of her salvation through hew own character in the book. Perhaps a series of articles is in order. More to come. |
