I would like to thank everyone on the forum for your insights and for the incentive you have given me to get into the word and not just depend on what you or anyone else may say concerning my salvation. You all probably have read this verse and saw the parallel before, but it was an aha moment for me. Romans 4:9 ”He (Abraham) received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised” the thought occurred to me that Abraham was sealed by circumcision which would mean that the sign could not be reversed. The sign was permanent. Just as the Spirit is a permanent sign that we are sealed when we accept Jesus as our Savior. God is good and greatly to be praised. Rider |

Rider: Thanks for sharing. Your insight gives clarity to the following scriptures: 2 Cor 1:21-22 (KJV) Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath annointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. Eph 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. |
