Myra Meharry, formerly the administrative assistant to Randy Roberts, senior pastor at the LLU Church, gave her faith story on Friday night, February 18, at the FAF Weekend at Trinity Church. She was clear and direct, stating that because she loves her Adventist friends, it is not and never will be acceptable to stand by and say nothing about the true gospel which they do not know. Thanks for posting this... Myra's story is so clear and honest. That's what keeps us speaking up to friends and family. What a blessing! Amen River. PC |

Thank you so much for making the audios of the FAF weekend available! Myra's story is so similar to my wife's. She married her first husband and became an Adventist, much to the dismay and concern of her family. (Luckily, it was never a point of contention between her and them. Everything fine on that front.) But when confronted with the truth about Adventism and my reasons for leaving the church, she was visibly upset and asked the same "What have I done" question that Myra asked. What concerned her most was that she raised her two children to believe SDA dogma and sent them to their schools. It's interesting to note that one has left the church (still a Christian), the other is an uber-Adventist. But they are both happy and turned out fine, a credit to her mother-hood and not the church's influence I'm sure. |

My husband and I are so appreciative of being able to listen to this Testimony. It encourages us to keep praying for our SDA son & his wife and to continue to speak God's word of truth with love via our email dialogues with the kids. |

~I was fortunate to be able to hear Myra's testimony in person~ I believe she was very brave considering her former position of employment with Randy Roberts~ I was also employed by the SDA denomination in a position of influence and continued my employment after I was "born again"~ When you finally know the "Truth" of who JESUS CHRIST truly is your integrity will not allow you to continue to be identified with the denomination that is built on a "doctrine of demons"~ Hence~I "retired" and suffered loss of material things~ However, the LORD is faithful and when HE brings you out HE does not let you go! I daily rejoice in the freedom I have in HIS finished work on the cross for me~ I was a "fourth generation" SDA~ I pray that all those in my circle of family & friends who are still viewing JESUS CHRIST through "egw glasses" will open the door of their heart to the knocking of the "real" JESUS CHRIST~ I remember what the apostle John taught that it is through our LOVE that we are known to be the true followers of the "CHRIST"~ ~*~mj~*~ |

Very good testimony! The thing that most convinced Myra who started out as an evangelical Christian before she joined the SDA church; that the SDA church was wrong, wouldn't have even made me blink when I was an SDA. Ellen White having to have "visions" in order for the SDA church leaders to understand what the Bible was saying wouldn't have bothered me in the least, because I thought, as an SDA, that people NEEDED to have someone interpret the Bible in order to understand it. Even though, the Bible actually teaches that Christians understand the Bible through the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, as an Adventist, I neither believed nor understood that. I thought we needed to have a prophet! It certainly took a series of miracles by the Lord for me to come out from that false church!!! |

I also loved the testimony! I find it so encouraging. As I read through these posts and see the word "testimony" over and over, I am struck by how different the above testimony is from the "testimonies" of egw. I'm glad to listen to testimonies that lift us up to Jesus, rather than point to our failures. I randomly selected a quote from the egw estate. The first one that popped up when I put in the search of "testimonies" was this..... "The effects of wrong eating are brought into council and board meetings. The brain is affected by the condition of the stomach. A disordered stomach is productive of a disordered, uncertain state of mind. A diseased stomach produces a diseased condition of the brain and often makes one obstinate in maintaining erroneous opinions. The supposed wisdom of such a one is foolishness with God." —Testimonies for the Church 7:257. (See also Testimonies for the Church 7:258.) How like night and day are these two testimonies? |

I put all the audio from the FAF weekend on my ipod and have been listening to them.... have listened to a few more than once already Also plan to go through them all again once they are available as videos. It will be great to see as well as hear all the wonderful speakers God has truly been blessing FAF In the words of Fanny Crosby : "To God be the glory, great things He has done; So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life an atonement for sin, And opened the life gate that all may go in. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory, great things He has done. O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives. Great things He has taught us, great things He has done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see." |
