Colleen posted an excerpt from the upcoming issue of Proclamation where Chris Lee talks about the problems concerning Investigative Judgment. I tried to post something on my Facebook profile but it is to long so I thought I would put is here. The book of Revelation is the testimony of Jesus Christ which he made known by sending his messenger, an angel, to the Apostle John, Rev 1:1. Jesus makes the following declaration in Rev. 19:3-4 concerning the holiness of God the Father: They sang the song of God’s servant Moses and the song of the Lamb: Great and awe-inspiring are Your works, Lord God, the Almighty; righteous and true are Your ways, King of the Nations. Lord, who will not fear and glorify Your name? Because You alone are holy, for all the nations will come and worship before You because Your righteous acts have been revealed. (Rev 15:3-4 HCSB) Jesus also made this statement early on the day he was crucified: But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the Power of God.” (Luke 22:69 HCSB) Now, consider where Jesus has been seated for the better part of two thousand years: Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne. (Heb 12:1-2 HCSB) The conclusion is simple. Jesus has been in seated in the most holy of places for the better part of two thousand years simply because there is no more holy place to be than at the side of God the Father. Therefore, the Seventh-day Adventist doctrine of Investigative Judgment is false for at least one significant reason. It purports to teach that Jesus moved to the heavenly compartment called the Holy of Holies in 1844 when in reality he was already seated at the only source of holiness long before. PS Of course, any Holy Spirit equipt bible centered student of God’s word knows far more than one reason why Investigative Judgment is false. Not the least of which is our eternal security promised by Jesus Christ through the inspired words of Paul, Romans 8:1. Fearless Phil |

Hebrews show a very different picture of Jesus' actions today than the SDA Investigative judgment doctrine! Most SDAs don't know this, but Ellen White couldn't even keep Jesus location straight. In Early Writings p. 42 and the SDA Bible Commentary p. 1109 (from MS 6a) she says He is today in the at the ark (in the Most Holy Place). In Desire of Ages p. 568 and 1888 Materials p. 865 she says He is today at the altar of incense (which was in the Holy place). Did He change His mind and move back out after 1888? Michael |

You know what this particular discussion is confusing to me. I can't make heads or tails of it. I personally believe, which the SDAs have difficulty in understanding,is that Jesus resumed his rightful place in the Holy of Holies, seated at the right-hand of God the Father when he rose back up to the Heavens at his ascension. |

~HELLO~ This is my first time using this site~ I just wanted to AGREE with Fearless Phil in his statement that Romans 1:8 gives born again believers the security needed to believe that we are SAVED once and for all by the blood shed by Jesus Christ on the cross. I believe that EGW spoke a doctrine of heresy! ~mjcmcook~ |

Welcome Mjcmcook. The rest of Romans chapter three makes for good reading also, especially since the Apostle Paul shares the struggle of Christians in chapter seven and shows it is all about Jesus Christ and not the Law. Oh, I can hardly wait for the new issue of Proclamation where we can read the rest of what Chris Lee wrote. The subject is really about why Adventist don't like to focus on the resurrection. Well, I see that I should edit what I write a bit better. In my last post I said 'three' when I meant to say 'eight'. That is, Romans chapter eight. Fearless Phil |

Phil, explain what you mean that "The subject is really about why Adventist don't like to focus on the resurrection." I've never met an adventist who does not believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Most of the ones I know do believe in the physical resurrection. Please expand your thought further. |

Adventists "believe" in the resurrection... but it is not of as much IMPORTANCE to SDA's as Christians in general because to a SDA Christ died for their "past and confessed" sins only so that our SALVATION still is dependent upon our not "sinning" or being sure to confess every sin to keep our "book" in Heaven clean. To an SDA our salvation was not taken care of at the cross...I believe it was Mark Martin who I heard say according to Adventism it is like Christ just paid the down payment for us and it is up to us to keep up the "payments" to assure our own salvation. |

Alison1, I was referring to Colleen's Facebook posting where she quoted from Chris Lee's article in the upcoming issue of Proclamation. The title of Chris Lee’s article is: "Why Easter Is a Big Deal" (or "Why Adventists Don't Celebrate Easter") It is not so much that Adventist don’t preach about the resurrection, but why they don’t like to tie it in with the gospel being complete when Jesus died at Calvary and arose from the grave on Resurrection Sunday three day later. as to the first question on this thread... "where is the Holy of Holies" ? I believe the Holy of Holies is where ever God is at any given moment. It is in HIS PRESENCE not a particular PLACE like a certain building, room, etc. |

Skeeter, I do believe you 'get it'! Not even the wilderness tabernacle was holy until God came upon it. Also, remember the burning bush that Mose saw in the desert, where God said he was on holy ground? Fearless Phil |
