I found both of these while browsing through old FAF pages. This first one is an article about eating meat http://www.nogreaterjoy.org/index.php?id=84&tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=154&tx_ttnews%5BbackPid%5D=12&cHash=9880baa816 |

The postcard is awesome...I wish I had a way to get it to a couple people I know. One used ot attend my prents' church group, and has left, but I don't know if she realizes adventism is wrong, or if she just didn't want to follow all the rules (completely undertandable..I was there too). The other girl has questions, I know, and isn't happy. but,I don't have either mailing address, and I also am quite sure it wouldn't be read if the 2nd girl knew it was from me. |

Michael Pearl is an advocate authoritarian parenting and of 'proper spanking' as a discipline method in particular. His method has been used/misused by many parents and is implicated in the death of several children and the damage of many. He and his wife Debbie have written several books. Here's a a list of them: http://www.amazon.com/Michael-Pearl/e/B002ATQA08 |

I am glad it was helpful At times when this forum seems kind of slow I like to look back into the archives and see what I may have missed in the past. Francie |

Found another "gem" posted by Mary in 2006. I think this is beautiful ! "Posted on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 - 8:44 am: The Years that the Locusts have eaten Are withered and dry and gone The Locusts themselves are departed No more over and under and on And yet to that dry desolation The desert that once was a lawn The wasteland that once was a garden Where dreams are dead, broken and gone The Lord of the seed-time and harvest Has come to His garden at last The voice of the springtime is calling The cold of the winter is past. The years of 'before', now composted, And blessed by God's sovereign design Having lost all the shape that they once had Are ready for Him to combine With the water of life given freely Creating a glorious mud Rich, Ready for seeds of His planting For the time of the flower and the bud The angels in heaven rejoicing Amazed at his plans deep and true Can hardly contain their excitement As their Master comes to you.. Oh quiet! Look, look! He is bending, He's taking the heart's gift of dust He's watering, probing, tending He's honoring love's flickring trust. And out of that dry desolation Is awakening something new New life to that dust He is giving Eternity in view. --Mary L. Stockler " |
