So my hubby and I were on my facebook page last night and we couldn't believe what one of his Adventist friends put on their status.. "America is coming to the End of Days, do not be deceived, sure the Tea Party and Glenn Beck seem like the innocent, constitutional, and God-fearing party of Christian choice, but this is just a 'mask', soon God will reveal these people are actually working with the 'enemy' to promote Sunday observance and 'Christian domination', be prepared and not deceived". So... needless to say I didn't even dignify that post with a comment, My hubby was very embarrassed for this guy, as my hubby enjoys the politics of Glenn Beck, so my hubby took it upon himself to delete him from my friends list! Why are Adventists so desperate to validate EGW and her clearly False predictions? Seriously, if it's not the Jesuits, it's the democrats, or the tea party people, or the republicans, or anyone- any far-fetched reason they can find to validate EGW no matter what the cost. Why can't they just rationalize in their mind the actual possibility of 'Sunday Laws' ever happening? No one cares what day you worship on! Get over it! |

I am such a facebook junkie, I am looking for the "like" button on here. hee hee Once you step back from the Adventist life and look in from the outside, the beliefs do seem so bizarre, don't they? |

I am a facebook junkie also. I keep track of all my friends across the US and Canada that way. I recently put in my status that all formers should put Pastor Phil Buber's video, which he did for the 2010 FAF reunion, on their profiles so their pastors and Christian friends can see it and know what sdas believe. Funny, I haven't seen any SDA mention how the US government is now actively funding mosque construction both outside and within the US. |

I know, I haven't heard any such talk from SDA's either. But every time there is a story of a RCC scandal, they are right on it! Sunday Laws Personally I think the Muslim people (referring to willing to die and kill for Allah) are a much bigger threat to Christianity than RCC. There have been stories on MSN about Christians and Americans being persecuted and executed in mission fields in the middle-east by these types of Muslims. I have Catholic friends and relatives who are opposed to the Mosque funding and building, funny they would oppose, I though they were the enemy? lol There is a fine line between delusion and faith. |

Also ironically, the most Holy City of the Muslim faith, Mecca, sits on 7 hills, just like Rome. |

What I think is especially amusing, is that Adventists think Glenn Beck could well bring about fulfillment of the Sunday Law, while the Mormons think Glenn Beck may be fulfilling Joseph's Smith's 1843 prophecy that one day the Constitution will be hanging by a thread and a Mormon will fix it. See this article, page 2 is where it talks about the prophecy: http://www.alternet.org/media/143381/how_mormonism_created_glenn_beck/?page=1 Yes, Glenn Beck converted to Mormonism in 1999. It irritates me just as much to see Christians get all excited because a "Christian" leader is doing what he's doing. I don't have a problem with him leading an effort for a government clean-up, but he's not a Christian and I don't think churches should promote joining forces with him as if that is a God-given responsibility. |

I agree, I don't think the Mormon religion is Christian at all. |

I just heard Glenn Beck mention that his wife was a mormon but he did not say anything about himself being one. This was yesterday. Surfy |

Weird., but I still don't think he's the man to be ushering in 'Sunday Laws'. You think with all the political research he does, he would have researched the roots of Mormonism and their weird ties to the Masons. You don't follow a faith/religion just because it 'feels good' or 'feels like the truth', there has to be Biblical truth and substance to support your faith, too. I feel good when I go to church, I love church, but there's more to what I believe than just a 'good feeling inside'. At SDA church I felt empty and no spiritual growth whatsoever, no 'burning bossum' , just a feeling of 'intellectual superiority' because after all, I had the 'truth'. |

I wonder sometimes also about Sean Hannity... he seems so intelligent and so right on about so many things.... so...how can he be Catholic...? |

Maybe it doesn't really make a difference, but while they have a false gospel, at least the Catholic church had genuine Christian roots/beginning and hasn't had a false prophet. I would have a bigger problem with Mormons, SDAs, and JW's being considered a "Christian" leader to partner with. |

Just jumping in here--With regard to the Beck's and Hannity's being intelligent, but still caught up in religion, I have to say that I was in the same mode for 55 years being an SDA. If it wasn't for the amazing grace of God and His waking me up, I would still be in that spot. I just pray to our Father for men like this that they will see the true and complete Gospel of Grace given to us so freely by the Son of God through the blood of His sacrifice. Just an aside--you have all been an encouragement and inspiration to me--I'm one of those who visits here periodically--a silent but praying supporter. You definitely encouraged me as I travelled out of SDAism and I am so grateful for the new life I have in Christ. I was a several generation SDA, daughter of a conference leader, attended SDA schools, TRIED to keep the law! But with Paul, I gladly gave it all up for the privilege of knowing Christ, My Lord. Blessings to you all, Anne |

Maybe the Catholic church had Christian "roots" but personally I put their Pope in the same category as a false prophet... except in the Catholics case they serve a "Living" person instead of a dead one. They are still taking the word of a human being over and above the word of God. (IMO) My Grandparents that immigrated here from Germany in the 1800's were Catholic,, one of my Grandfathers brothers was a Catholic Priest (in Montana and North Dakota) and though my Mom was not a "church goer" if for no other reason than to please my Grandmother, she made sure her children (myself, brother and sister)were baptized by the Catholic church as babies. If you call him by name as "Pope" or "Prophet" he puts himself in the place of Christ on earth and people bow down to him, kiss his feet, his hand, etc... which makes him (IMO) even worse than a prophet. While the false prophets of Mormonism, JW and SDA, etc have authority,, at least (to my knowledge) they didnt expect people to bow down and show them honor deserved only by Christ. I attended catechism classes when I was in grade school for a while. Thankfully, (I dont remember why but) I stopped attending and did not go through the First Communion service. (Thank you Lord) |

I can not blame the people but I blame the churchs for what they teach. God has believers in all churches regardless of if they go to Baptist, Protestant, Catholic, etc churches. Saul/Paul is a good example of how God can change and use people. I did not get to watch Glenn's gathering but from what all I have read and heard he did not try and bring in his Morman teaching. He was doing a ralling call to people of this country to turn back to God and now it is up to the individual to make that choice to come back/follow God. I am sooooo sick and tired of the fear rallying call used by the sda conference office to others. When I hear an sda say the sunday law I ask them to prove it to me using the bible only and not anything egw has written. They cann't. I am sorry for my rant but I get so tired of the sda turning everything into doom and gloom rant. |

Exactly, they absolutely cannot find any Biblical text/doctrine to back-up Sunday Laws! That was the doing of EGW, she is gone/dead now but even in death she still has so much control over Adventism, it is very creepy! IMO |

The only thing "proof" I have ever heard from SDA's concerning Sunday Laws is a text something to the effect (not sure what text or exact wording) 'he will think to change times and laws...' I have heard that statement is referring to the Pope and that he changed the fourth commandment "laws" by changing the day "times" of worship from Saturday to Sunday. |
