I found a reference to this in an old sda devotional which I bought at a garage sale to throw away. A friend found the source, and I'd like to share it:

I wonder if she was referring to shock treatments for the mentally ill ? I seem to remember EGW recommending some kind of electric light treatments at the Kellog sanitarium though... ? Before she turned against him anyway. | ||

In the devotional Satan's currents were mentioned in conjunction with EGW's teachings that our bodies have electricity in them, so therefore Satan can hook into our electrical systems because he has electric currents, too. In this way he can control us. So, no she is not referring to machines but to mediums. | ||

Oh, my goodness!! Nowisee, she is so indicting herself! She essentially taught what those mediums taught--and let's not forget she had an angelic guide for her dreams and visions. Nothing like hiding in plain sight...she exposes and defames the spiritualists and mediums, and she actually was functioning in a similar way.
