I have been in an interesting conversation of late, that brings up the thought about how Satan is an accuser of the brethren, he stands trying to accuse us night and day over some weakness or another. Even gets us to accuse one another, and to look down on one another. He uses everything we say that is meant for good of the brethren, to turn it against us, and to turn the brethren against us if he can. He stands accusing us so we will take our cloths off, to cause us to stand before God naked and ashamed, and to deny the cross of Christ Jesus. He tries to make us into strippers. A loser in a game of strip poker. He takes every weakness we have, which covers a multitude of things, from belching at the table to the way our hair is parted, or he’ll take some vague scripture out of context to try to get you to begin stripping your self of the saviors love. The clothing where with he has clothed you. He accuses us, and we begin to strip. We hit our finger with a hammer, let out a curse word, and he says that’s worth a shirt! So we humbly take off our shirt, maybe it’s the gals, she stumbles, and he says, I want your bra! And she humbly takes it off, exposing her woman hood. Folks I am not trying to be vulgar here, but we must not allow anything or anyone cause us to deny the cross of Jesus Christ, not Satan, not anyone. He has clothed us, put the robes of his righteousness on us, and removed the filthy rags he found us clothed with. He found us with clothing that was filthy, moth eaten, hanging in tatters, and with his love he clothed us. With his death, his suffering and his agony, he clothed us in his purity and his righteousness, a robe of pure white, our wedding gown. I remember a little thing I wrote called ‘A Letter to Jesus’, and it is somewhere on my hard drive amidst the thousands of file. I intend to find it and repost it. Oh folks, don’t let satan get you in a game of strip poker. He has no rights to do this. I hope you will understand what I am saying. Beloved, stand firm in your robes he has put on you. Stand in your calling. Stand strong against the enemy of your soul. If any of your Adventist family or others try to make you feel lower than a snakes belly, tries to back you into a corner, tries to get you on the offensive, stand up! Stand strong in the power of Jesus might. Don’t take your cloths off. Your robe does not belong to this world. You don’t have any rights to play strip poker, you never dressed yourself in the first place. Don’t take your cloths off. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. River |

As I read this post and am writing this post I had my Bible on CD on and it was Genesis 1 and I find it fitting because in Genesis before sin our parents were naked but not ashamed. After sin, the serpent was condemned to slither in the dust. Today we are covered in the righteousness of Jesus and we do need to always remember who we are in Christ. We are not lower than a snakes belly and though our bodies may return to dust when mortal life ends we go to our heavenly home Which reminds me of another thing that I was contemplating this morning while reading John chapter 16--Jesus went to the Father and one day whether in death or through His return we will go to Him as well 2 Sam 12:23 has been a great comfort to me over the last months and should I get called home before the rapture (pre-trib, mid trib, post trib I don't know I just know that Jesus is coming back) I want my tombstone to say "I will go to him" 2 Sam 12:23. I know in the strictest sense David was speaking about being reunited with his son, however, the larger sense is that when his life was over he was going home to be with his Redeemer. One of my prayers for 2010 is that my focus will be on heaven to the exculsion of everything that does not have me act like a citizen of Heaven and an ambassador for Christ to be a part of leading people to Christ. I agree brother there is no reason for us as Christians to be naked and ashamed Enoch |
