Hi, all--it's been an intense few days. Richard and I are both half asleep because Proclamation had to be at the printer's today by 10:00 AM in order to be dropped at the Post Office on December 3. Richard is working on the online version; it should be available sometime tomorrow, probably.

I think it's a powerful issue...the lead story examines EGW as "a source" of truth, examining books currently used within Adventism to show how she is taught and understood.

I want to re-post a link to a sermon which is quoted in the article. A few weeks ago, Blessed posted this link. It's a sermon preached by Bill Santos at the Henderson Highway SDA Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba, last spring. Bill Santo is the Canadian It Is Written evangelist. He makes a living preaching SDA evangelistic series to bring new members into the Adventist church.

In a public meeting, I doubt he would have the nerve to say the things about Ellen White that he said in this sermon. But internally, within an Adventist congregation, he can say what he actually believes about her—because he KNOWS that his audience also believes the same things.

Adventists try to deny their true faith and confidence in Ellen's authority. Yet they are ALL taught—especially those who grow up in the church—that Ellen is a prophet of God. They have no trouble hearing Bill Santos say, as he says in this sermon, that Ellen White uses "prophetic license", and she may do with Scripture what we may not do.

I'd like to encourage you to listen to this sermon and hear exactly how a "big name" in Adventist evangelism really talks and believes about EGW when he doesn't have to make a good impression on an unsuspecting public.

Adventists really do believe EGW is a prophet. No amount of denying their belief will change the fact that they have worldviews shaped by the Great Controversy theme.

Anyway, the link to the online sermons is here: http://hendersonhighway22.adventistchurchconnect.org/article.php?id=34

Look for Bill Santos' name in the list of presenters; you'll find his sermon listed last May, I believe.

Hurray! Proclamation is done.

Colleen, I want to really, really thank you for all the work you and Richard put into Proclamation. You may not know this side of eternity how much good you are doing with your ministry. My aunt for one, asks me every few days about the magazine. She is eagerly waiting for it. So am I. And I'm sure so are many others.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

OK--the PDF version is now online. Richard is still working on the HTML version where the individual articles are downloadable and printable.

The PDF version is a big file, because this is a 32-page magazine, but it's up and available.

I want to call your attention to the new column on the back page by Chris Lee. He's doing a series on Life After Adventism. The column is called "The Life After". It's well-written and thought-out, as Chris's writing always is!

Enjoy--the HTML version will be available ASAP! Richard said to let y'all know the PDF is available as a "preview" because everyone's waited so long for it!

Enjoy!

Ok I have to admit something. The front cover spooked me. That big picture of EGW kind of jumped out at me but then I looked past it and saw the cross and then I felt much better.

Richard, whether or not the intent was to show that the cross has been placed in the background with EGW in the foreground I say kudos (but maybe next time use a less scary picture) :-)

I just listened to Bill Santos--it's nauseating. Ellen White isn't just any prophet--she's the highest prophet apparently...she has the prophetic license to change/add to parables now--to change the very meaning of the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard. The guys who got there first and worked the entire day are not saved according to her--Bill Santos even admitted you couldn't get this from Scripture---what's wrong with these people?? It's even worse than I remember it.

My dearly beloved. Please know that we are not all crazy up here in Canada...though when I hear stuff like this I want to run back to the States and hang out in the Bible belt.

Prophetic license eh?? Never heard that before. It would take volumes to dissect all that he said here but one thing that jumps out at me is that ALL the workers got their reward. The longterm workers did not lose their reward so EGW's theory falls apart

Dear Mr. Santos...you said you're staying on the ship keep in mind many people stayed on the Titanic to their peril

I am looking forward to burning this sermon on a cd along with the one posted by Dwight earlier.. sending them on to people who are trying to tell me they don't teach these things anymore. =) Handy little resources to have.

Anxious for the new Proclamation! Thanks SO much for all your hard work! Prayers are with you as you continue to spread the word!
