Anyone wish to enter the discussion of the Sanctuary and the commandments on this FB group, I am discussing this with someone by the name of Lydia who insists that Jesus' blood transferred our sins to heaven for 2000 years now. She also posted the famous Rev verses the saints who keep the commandments and faith of Jesus. I posted a ton of scripture hopefully she will read it and reconsider her stand.

Paul, I think you fell for the "used car salesman" trick. You were discussing the Sanctuary doctrine and she switch you to the commandments and law which for her will be easier to discuss.

Your points on the commandments are good and you have tons of Bible references, but it let's her off of a more difficult topic. I don't think there are many SDAs who can defend the sanctuary doctrine so they get out of it as soon as they can.

Maybe I'm wrong, but...

Hec,

I agree, but I'm always willing to get into the covenants and commandments with them since the bible is clear on it. As you have seen I have posted way more than enough evidence from scripture. I left the Sanctuary doctrine in her court, I asked her to post scripture showing that sin is transferred to heaven by the blood of Jesus. Or Sin was transferred to the sanctuary by the animal's blood. I believe she will not respond with that, unless she is willing to quote Ellen.

I read through your posts on FB quickly, while I was on a break at work today. (On my Blackberry, not my work computer.) I thought you made several excellent points. I admire you for being so bold. I wish I could be like that.

I always enjoy watching lawyer/courtroom movies, because I like to see both sides argue their points. I think your posts were very convincing. Of course, I'm already convinced, but if I weren't convinced, you would make me think HARD and LONG about what you're saying.

Honestwitness,

thanks, I hope it causes her to think as well. All we can do is plant and water, God causes the growth.

Yeah. Our sins transferred to heaven. That's a good one. Hadn't heard that one before. So they can be pulled out and used against us sometime?

But of course, Surfy, didn't you know that every time you sin all the sins you ever committed come tumbling back down on you until you confess again?

Paul, I scrolled down, and I love that you are posting scripture upon scripture! It's awesome! I don't see how she can refute it. But she has her red books. I saw where she said sda's do not bash catholics. I think she's speaking of now, but a few good egw quotes on the evils of the catholic church might dispel her theory on what adventists really believe about catholics.

Growing up SDA, adventists bashed Catholics. When I had my son and he went to school, it was to the SDA school for 3 years. Many years later when he was in college he mentioned to me how SDAs bashed Catholics. I denied it as I had not heard that for a long time. By that time I was no longer a member of that church. I told him they used to do that. But apparently he heard enough to know they did. I had heard all the EGW quotes while in SDA schools, so I knew them.
I thank God that now I am truly out of adventism.

They still refer to the Pope as the beast and the Catholic church as the harlot. Evangelicals churches as the daughters of the harlot. As a matter of fact, I know some SDA that would not call the Pope, Pope. Every time they refer to him they use beast instead of Pope.

By the way, SDAs equate the beast with the anti-Christ. Is that Biblical or SDA? Are they the same or different?

Well it looks like I stumped her, she has not replied since, I'm sure she has read my replies since she is on posting in other topics.

Hec,
I think there are quite a few eschatological views which refer to the beast as the antichrist, it is not uniquely SDA. The idea that this is the pope, however, seems to be connected with the "historical" interpretation framework which was the usual one in Reformation times. Most modern views I have come across have dismissed this in favour of another approach, most commonly the "futuristic" view, where the antichrist is usually viewed as a political figure, still to come. SDA are about the only ones who still use the historisist approach.
Of course, within each framework, there are loads of alternative views, so don't ask me which is right! :-)

God bless,
Adrian
