Last week had several challenges, as most weeks do, it isn't always easy being human. Through these challenges, I kept listening for what Jesus is telling me to do. This has a much different experience than the often quoted " What would Jesus do?" which became popular in many Christian circles, in that to listen for him, is much different than to try and figure out how he was our example for this, or that situation that may or may not be identical to his. The "what would Jesus do?" really only looks to Jesus as an example, rather than being engaged with Jesus as a companion. Someone who will never leave you or forsake you, someone who has a voice to be heard and responded to. Jesus always has our best interests at heart, and wants our hearts to listen , and respond to his. AS it is written, " Delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of you heart." What could be better than to have your desires be the ones Jesus gives you. He gives desires, not your hearts desires, but his hearts desires, so that you actually want what he has told you to want. How different this is from the past where I would want something to happen in a particular situation, and I would ask God to give ME, what MY heart desired, instead of asking Jesus to have me want, what he wants me to want. So my friends, ask not "what would Jesus do?" nor,"what would Jesus tell me to do?" rather listen, and hear, without any quotation, or question marks, what Jesus is telling me to do. Chris |

Love that Voice! quote: " Delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of you heart." ... He gives desires, not your hearts desires, but his hearts desires, so that you actually want what he has told you to want.
Silly Me! And here I always thought that meant I'd get that the THINGS I wanted and I would prosper. In Re-birth Even The Simplest Scripture Takes On New Meaning. Pegg |
