There was a note written on facebook that was a copy of the study of the New Covenant that Clay Peck has on his website. The study is excellent and easy to read/understand. Of course there are disagreements about the note... but it made me wonder, WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR AN ADVENTIST TO UNDERSTAND THAT CHRIST FULFILLED THE OLD COVENANT??? The New Covenant is about the cross event, Christ's blood cleansing me of my sins, my sin nature buried in Christ, I am now a new creation... then the boulder hit me... oooooohhhhh... if you don't believe in Christ's finished work at the cross, the New Covenant wouldn't make any sense to the Investigative Judgment believer. I had never really thought how the Investigative Judgment is really Adventism's New Covenant. It seems that the church works hard at separating those 2 concepts... keeping them at a large distance from each other. Can you imagine the Christian community's reaction if they understood this is what the Seventh-Day Adventist "New Covenant" really is? We should stop calling it the "Investigative Judgment" and call it what it really means to the Adventist "the SDA New Covenant." This is how I responded on the thread:
hmmmm... letting go of the "SDA New Covenant"... truly a work that is done by God. I know if He can create things out of nothing... He can draw people to Him, remove the "SDA New Covenant" and show them the truth of His New Covenant. ~vivian | ||

This note by Clay Peck was posted by Gregg Chaddic. If you want to read it, make sure that when you "friend" him that you let him know that you post here on FAF. This way he'll know where you saw this. There have been many responses to the note... everything from "I love my Sabbath because of the rest that I find in it" (sad they find rest in a day instead of Christ) to questioning his [Gregg's] love for God. On the flip side, there are also responses where people agree with the note as well. Interesting reading... ~vivian | ||

Hey you guys. This is Gregg and I'm a pastor with Clay at Grace Place. If you never read his "New Covenant Christians" study you can now on my facebook Notes tab. I'll be posting "Is The Sabbath Required For New Covenant Christians" in the next couple of days, followed by "Transitioning to the New Covenant" after that. I have about 1200 friends on facebook, and there are several other pastors (SDA and former) posting in the notes, so it represents a fairly large potential audience. I pray that the Holy Spirit will lead some (all) to turn to Christ so the veil can be removed. In Christ alone... | ||

No I think I'm having trouble with facebook. I hadn't noticed but my e-mail was spelled wrong when I signed in, so maybe that's it--I'll keep trying when I have time. I'll check the spelling when I sign in-see if that's it. Peggy |
